View Full Version : How to Go About Chapter 2?
Taluntain Thu, 11th Jul '02, 7:43pm Someone who's done it all, please tell me which areas I should do first and which last. I want to do the areas where you find the leads last. That is, I want to do everything possible and not skip anything because I found the leads too quickly.
Rastor Thu, 11th Jul '02, 8:07pm Many of the minor quests in this chapter are easily completed alongside the main quest as you will find many of the items in the same area. Here's how I did the quests, and I'll try not to give away too many spoilers:
First, I went to the Green Griffon Inn and went through the Mutamin's challenge. You can explore this as you want, but just make sure to pick up everything you find along the way. After this, I went to the orc caves that Aarin mentioned. There are some useful items in here. Next, I headed over toward Neverwinter Woods. Along the road, you'll meet some Archaeologists. Talk with all of them, and do the quest they give you, as it is important to the unravelling mystery. Then, proceed into Neverwinter Woods. Explore this area, and talk with the druids there. Do their quest. Then, go to the Charwood and explore the area (can't remember if NPCs in here give you a quest or not. If so, do it.) That completes chapter two.
Note that you should talk to all the NPCs you see. The priest gives you a find the werewolf quest, and the Mage in the upper corner gives you a quest as well. These are best completed along with the plot quests. Most of the NPCs you encounter along the course of exploring the areas also give you quests that will automatically be completed in the course of completing the main quest. Also, there are a few quests that are only enabled depending on your class and who your henchman may be.

The items you need are found in the Neverwinter Woods and Charwood. However, once you find these items and take them back to Aribeth, she gives you time to explore around and such before beginning Chapter Three. You can use this time to complete any minor quests that you decide to do.
I realize I left this a bit vague, as I imagine you want to play the game yourself and learn the story behind it. Also, I only had a few minutes to type this up as I have to go to work shortly. I hope this helps you out.
Z-Layrex Thu, 11th Jul '02, 9:22pm Great Rastor, you've helped me out too, I was about to post the exact same question! You've answered the question perfectly without actually 'spoiling' anything. Great stuff :D
Frog Thu, 11th Jul '02, 9:27pm To make it simple. You need two confirmed sources or leads, but theres three areas. Each one offers a lead. You can do all three.(like I did) But remember, you only need 2 leads when theres a total of 3.
The order I did them was:
Green Griffon Inn
Neverwinter Wood
Charwood
It doesn't really matter what order you do them in, as long as you explore ever area you will discover everything.
Taluntain Thu, 11th Jul '02, 11:27pm Thanks!
Blackthorne TA Thu, 11th Jul '02, 11:56pm I basically did most of the areas (and dungeons in them) before the entrances to the woods proper first, and I actually did it in the opposire order as Frog. I went to the Charwood first, then Neverwinter Wood and finally the Green Griffon.
Frog Fri, 12th Jul '02, 2:04am -May contain Spoilers-
That could have been a better order BTA as the Green Griffon Inn area is more significant to the main story (being right next to luskan) and is probably best saved for last. (Especially since the assassin in that area was the hardest and was ment to be the final resistance before going into Luskan)
Not to mention the final bounty quest and Werewolf are there too. (Which requires the exploration of the other two areas)
As I play the game over again I'm doing quests in different orders. You can bet I'll be saving Giffon for last.

Rhythm Fri, 12th Jul '02, 12:03pm Actually, I believe there are only two sources that will lead you to Luskan, even though there are three places. One of them doesn't mention Luskan.
Rastor Sun, 14th Jul '02, 5:06pm I was under the impression that the melee half orc guy (his name started with a V, can't remember exactly) was the final guy that tried to stop you, with the exception of Darktongue. I found the assassin to be the easiest of the cult members.
I'm glad I could help you guys out!

Abyssal Knight Thu, 18th Jul '02, 8:12pm In response to the question this is my order of events:
Neverwinter Woods
Charwood
Green Griffon Inn
I found this order to work fairly well, but that is just my opinion.
Ragusa Sat, 20th Jul '02, 1:15pm Actually I did the areas that way :D
-Green Griffon Inn (incl. Mutamin'sd Challenge and all the caves)
-Charwood
-Neverwinter Woods
Besides, taliking to the mercenary guy in the barracks to get the bounty quests first is always a good idea since you pick a lot of stuff up along the way ;)
