I was wondering whether there is any particular advantage to examining traps before disabling them. In particular, I have read elsewhere that this improves the rogue's chances of disarming the trap. Has anyone tested this?

Also, assuming a reasonably high intelligence 12-14, what is a reasonable amount to put into "disable traps" if you are the primary rogue for your party in the OC?

I'm not sure, since I never played a Rogue, but I believe that by examining a trap you will be able to tell whether you are capable of disarming the trap at your present ability, not make it easier to disable.

Examining a trap does NOT increase your ability to disarm it.

The only real in game advantage that I've seen for examining traps is it you are NOT skilled enough to disarm it, you can get an idea of how nasty of a trap it is, to decide if it's worth setting it off to get at whatever's underneath.

Thanks for the info. Another "Neverwinter Legend" bites the dust.

Do you have any feelings on points for disable traps?
