first of all a question regarding the henchmen :
is it the idea (or is it possible) that you take each henchman each chapter at least 1 time (to finish his quest)

I have Tomy the rogue and his tactic is long range (at the moment because he seems to be doing more damage then when he is on close combat) but he also does sneak attack. is this normal ??
Ps. can you send out a rogue to go and backstab an enemie ??

question 1: Yes, you can just collect the items each henchman wants, then near the end of the chapter you can just hire each one, one at a time, and go through their (endless) dialog to complete their personal quests.

question 2: If he's within a certain distance, and the target is occupied with someone else (not attacking Tomi) he'll do his sneak attack damage.

No, you can't instruct him to backstab someone.
