Frostbite Thu, 29th Jan '04, 1:46pm I have snow!!!
South England has snow!
:D I fell over twice trying to walk up one hill and down another to my bus stop. And then I got pelted with snowballs when I got to school :(
edit - :o 700 th post!
Harbourboy Thu, 29th Jan '04, 1:52pm The snow WOULD be OK if England wasn't so useless at dealing with it. I don't understand why all the transport here grinds to a halt because of a little bit of snow when other countries have far more snow than here. Plus - in the summer the trains all stopped because it was too HOT! In the autumn the trains all stopped because there were too many leaves and in the spring the trains all stopped because there was too much rain.
Sorry - I'll stop ranting now.
Arabwel Thu, 29th Jan '04, 2:39pm Please, don't mention snoww... there's way too much of it! And it's cold!
I want to go to Australia.. No snow, and kangaroo herding is supposed to pay well....
Baldrak Thu, 29th Jan '04, 2:40pm It's snowing again, but the stuff won't stay... It melts just after hitting the ground.
I want good snow and I want it now!
Quicho Thu, 29th Jan '04, 2:45pm We have snow. It stays. -13,5 degree Celsius in the morning, -6,5 degree Celsius in the noon.
Splunge Thu, 29th Jan '04, 3:02pm Surprisingly enough for the Canadian prairies, yes, we have snow. (That was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, for those who aren't familiar with our weather :D ) And more snow than usual.
It's also f***ing cold. As I'm typing this, it's -40 (C or F, same thing), -52C with the wind chill. (This is way below normal.)
Gothmog Thu, 29th Jan '04, 3:02pm /me loves snow!
Its just too bad there's just so little of it. A few days before newyear should have been snowing instead of useless raining. Just aint fair :( i want 2meters of snow at least!
Taluntain Thu, 29th Jan '04, 3:44pm You must not have to shovel it yourself from in front of the garage and around the house. Either that, or you're definitely insane. :shake:
Faragon Thu, 29th Jan '04, 4:18pm Yeah we got snow, and it's great :)
I love snow :D
Wordplay Thu, 29th Jan '04, 4:37pm I refuse to answer to that poll of yours. :p Having snow means that there is cold, but not having snow does not necessarily mean that it is warm...
Loerand Thu, 29th Jan '04, 4:40pm (o) We have snow too and it rocks!
Snow is "Tha Thing" for me, and it will always be. And we have a lot of it up here in Norway right now :)
Defspeal Thu, 29th Jan '04, 4:47pm We have snow :D , however its melting and turning to Ice.
Think its going to be like a scene from home alone trying to get up the steps to my house later
:rolling:
dmc Thu, 29th Jan '04, 5:21pm La la land -- no snow and not a chance until I go skiing. Yes, I am rather pleased, as that's one of the main reasons I moved here. 70 degrees and sunny today, same as yesterday, same as tomorrow.
Aldeth the Foppish Idiot Thu, 29th Jan '04, 5:41pm In the last three days we've received about a foot of snow (in three different storms), plus about a half inch of ice in an ice storm. "Could my opinion of this weather get ANY lower? Evidently so."
Malovae Thu, 29th Jan '04, 5:45pm We have snow and it ain't melting
Xindell Thu, 29th Jan '04, 6:10pm I remember that stuff called snow. Can't say I miss it tho. Since I moved to Florida, I expect to see VERY little of it ever again. Can't say that upsets me either. :)
Frostbite Thu, 29th Jan '04, 6:18pm  Never to feel the joy of shoving a handful of snow down someones back!
*highlight of Frostbites day*
Death Rabbit Thu, 29th Jan '04, 6:24pm I really miss snow. I grew up in a state known for it's great skiing. Christmas just feels wrong if it isn't snowy and white outside.
I don't miss shoveling it, though. Or being cold. Or it freezing my car and driving with frozen fingers. Or slipping on the ice it leaves. Or chapped lips.
Hmmm. On second thought, f*ck snow.
Uytuun Thu, 29th Jan '04, 6:30pm We had a regular snow storm yesterday night. And who was in it on her way home from the cinema? That's right: me.
Actually it wasn't that bad, the snow was still untouched, and I love walking on it and seeing the trail of my own footsteps behind me.
Falstaff Thu, 29th Jan '04, 6:33pm Snow? What's snow??
Oh - that white stuff falling from the sky in Christmas Movies!!
No snow here...
I used to live in Michigan (a long time ago, in a state far, far away) - LOTS of snow, luckily for me I was too small to have to shovel!
Can't say I miss it all that much though...
Sarevok• Thu, 29th Jan '04, 6:34pm Had snow now we have rock hard ice ;\
metal leper Thu, 29th Jan '04, 6:57pm We have snow here in Oxford (England) - and it really does suck
Trying to walk to lectures before 9am with icy pavements is not fun, and its cold, and I have labs all day on Thursday (after my 9 o'clock lecture that is).... bring on the weekend!
Also, I was walking back from doing some shopping when it started snowing, and I couldn't see where I was going because the wind was blowing straight at me, so I had to look away/cover my face to avoid the pain!
The Kilted Crusader Thu, 29th Jan '04, 8:42pm Plenty of snow up in the NE of Scotland right now, will probably start to melt tommorow morning. Hope the roads aren't clear enough so that we get off school again though *fingers crossed*
Lazy Bonzo Thu, 29th Jan '04, 9:06pm Snoooooowwwwwwwww! Snow is cold! Snow is snow! Snow is powdery! Snow is snow! Snow defeats england better than acorns! Snow is snow!
I love snow! Though only because of getting snowed in at my girlfriend's house and her mum letting me stay the night :D
Snowwwwwwwwwwww!
Rastor Thu, 29th Jan '04, 11:22pm North East US has had a foot of snow on the ground since the beginning of December. It sucks.
Alavin Thu, 29th Jan '04, 11:28pm Snow's great fun - especially when you almost slip over, which gets everyone nearby sniggering at you behind their gloved hand. Oh, and smuggling snow into lessons, then putting it down people's necks and listening to the funny noises. Missing school is fun, too, and it's almost as good when there is school - barely anybody turns up, and by the day's end the runt of the school has been pushed down the snowy bank by the swimming pool several times and can barely walk. What fun! :D
Dendri Thu, 29th Jan '04, 11:54pm There's snow here. Not much, but its snow.
And I like snow as long as I am not bothered by it. My car doesnt like snow at all, and winter, and gives me a hard time, maybe because its so old.
Therefore I cant wait to get it over with.
Kenixkil Fri, 30th Jan '04, 12:59am There was snow all over South Korea last week. Hated it. It snowed four times in one week, and they freeze and become ice the next day. The traffic jams on the highways were bad enough, but with all the ice the cars all slided all we had a number of collsions on the news(it was the lunar new year last week, and since almost all Koreans go to wherever the oldest person of the family is living(they live mostly in the country), the traffic jams are always incredible. in takes 14~15 hours to clear 450km).
Blue Loon Fri, 30th Jan '04, 1:49am Wow! A foot of snow up in the Northeast, I feel sorry for you. Where I live we got at least 2~3 feet. Snow is GREAT! Sledding, sliding (driving) and even shoveling. Shoveling snow is like mowing the grass; you got to love it. And if you get lazy, you can always use the snowblower.
For those of you that live in southern states, although you don’t get it often when you do get it, it is the funniest thing a northerner could see. A few years back during christmas break down in Fl, 2-3 inches of snow fell and everything shut down. I remeber going to a shells restaurant and we were the only people there. The waitress asked how we got there, said we drove, how? It was great. And watching the stupid blue-hairs on ice is also great.
Aldazar Fri, 30th Jan '04, 2:21am Snow?
In Australia??
Not likely. At least, not where I'm from. We've never had snow.
Oh, and Arabwel? 'Roo herding pays very well indeed - about 200 to 300 dollars a day. And that's on a bad day.
Dice Fri, 30th Jan '04, 4:07am -30 and counting and it even snowed. It usually doesn't snow when the temperature is so cold. The white stuff usually comes for us in the lower 0 to -24ish range. Cold weather tends to be with a crystal clear sky.
Rotku Fri, 30th Jan '04, 4:28am Never have sow down here :( Well only if your up in some mountian, which I certainly am not. Even if we did have snow, we wouldn't get it mid summer!
We need snow though, it's to hot at the moment! And snow means Skiing, so therefore we certainly need snow.
Blog Fri, 30th Jan '04, 5:49am We HAD snow here in Vancouver at the beginning of the month and it sucked. Now it's getting warmer, so no snow... back to basking in sunshine.
