I have a really stupid question which I am actually ashamed to ask, here goes.

Yesterday I tried to hook up a headphone to my computer so I really would be into the game, soundwise that is.

Well that didn't work at all, I have an outlet on my DVD player but that didn't work at all  .

I have a 4 speaker and woofer set form cambridge and a soundblaster live! soundcard.

Where should I put the damn headset in, and should I change any configuration on my computer, does this mean changing something in creative soundblaster menu.

That outlet on your DVD is just for Audio CDs (not MP3) which you can play with pressing play button on DVD (if you have that kind of model) or just put Audio CD in, and let autorun manage it...

To hear music from games, MP3 and other (which need "processor") you need to plug them in where you plug 2 front speakers (as i know it is better than 2 back, but try yourself). That works if you connect them (2 front speakers) with regular 2 stereo "jack" connector, btw. my friend has Cambridge soundworks speakers 2+1 and he has that kind of connector... But really good headphones that can reproduce good bass are expensive. I think.

But if you said you have sound blaster live card, my suggestion for start would be: disconnect your regular speakers (cambridge) and connect headphones with sound blaster card (also front speakers if you have 2 exits, line out could also work...)

Put the headphones into the second connection from the joystick port on the Soundblaster card. You also have to change the speaker setup in the Creative Mixer program.

Thanks I'll try that when I'm home. Hope it works
