View Full Version : Bush...isms
SlimShogun Mon, 19th Aug '02, 6:40pm OK, while some of you may say this belongs in the "Is bush a moron?" thread, I found it too funny to go there. I have no comment on his presidency, but his oratory skills are...lacking. ENJOY!

Keneth Mon, 19th Aug '02, 7:06pm Well isn't that a whole site of bulls***. I like it  :shake:
Z-Layrex Mon, 19th Aug '02, 7:12pm
He's as thick as sh** and is ruining America's image, but ya gotta love him ;)
Earl Grey Tue, 20th Aug '02, 12:44am Hihihihi! I could not believe this one:
"Do you have blacks, too?" - To Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Washington, D.C., Nov. 8, 2001
 :bang:   :shake:

SlimShogun Wed, 21st Aug '02, 4:36am Everyone NEEDS to see this stuff. It is on par for funniness with engrish.com!
Shadowhunter Wed, 21st Aug '02, 7:43am
I think I have another one:
Bush's cooperation statement to his allies:
Where do you wanna bomb today?
Sounds frighteningly familiar

Arabwel Wed, 21st Aug '02, 11:09am I knew it! I knew it! Bill Gates is manipulating Bush! He isn't a real person at all, he is a robot! He's Cait Sith 95! :p

Tiamat Wed, 21st Aug '02, 4:13pm Good grief, I always knew the man was a moron. I've been collecting Bushisms, but somebody beat me to it...that list is a LOT better than the one I got. (I have better things to do than track idiots all the time I suppose.) Everybody enjoy this marvellous project, formed out of the communal efforts of many united in their purpose of exposing Bush's idiocy to the public for popular amusement :p :)
Z-Layrex Wed, 21st Aug '02, 4:37pm I think any American that says they don't think he's an idiot secretly does but is supposed to protect their leader.
Shadowhunter Wed, 21st Aug '02, 8:28pm I have more, I have more:
Bush's freedom speech to the entire planet Earth:
"Arsk not how Bush can bomb your country, but how your country can be bombed by Bush"
IreniBush's opening presidential's speech:
"AHH! The child of Bush has awoken, it is time for BOMB experiments..."
Nobleman Wed, 21st Aug '02, 8:44pm Just for that comment I'll collect Tiamat-isms. Since you are still a teen, this collection can be quite exhaustive. Especially when you grow up and have to make statements on your cloning projects on the fly. In front of million viewers that is. Each day. Easy. No mistakes. Lets see.
Perhaps I can find some on the boards. Just for a start :D :p
Gonzago Sat, 24th Aug '02, 1:28am That, Nobleman, would be a pursuit true to the spirit of your monicker... I imagine it would work for everyone, or nearly everyone, on the planet.

(a good one - conspiracy theoies abound, splendid stuff!)
Shadowhunter Mon, 26th Aug '02, 2:08am Like Bush's daddy (Bush Sr.) said once:
"LICK MY BOOTS!... OR NEW BOMBS!"
Well, guess who took it seriously? :D
SlimShogun Thu, 14th Nov '02, 2:31am One of my favorite topics must be resurrected. It's great that this site is updated frequently!
Let all who are curious examine his latest idiocy!
"You see, the Senate wants to take away some of the powers of the administrative branch."—Washington, D.C., Sept. 19, 2002 For those not familiar with the American governmental system, there are three main branches. The legislative, the judicial, and the executive. He must've gotten confused, with all the thinking he'd been doing...

Laches Thu, 14th Nov '02, 2:53am What a strange coincidence. I just finished watching "Journeys With George" on HBO. It was a documentary following Bush around on the campaign trail focusing on him and the press who followed him. It was done by a rather left wing young woman, age 29.
I'd seen her interviewed about it before watching it. She was somewhat disconcerted by how taken in she was by him. She went in as a staunch opponent, and once she came to know him became rather fond of him. Part of the Bush "charm offensive" that took the democrats in when he first took office I suppose.
She ends it by saying, and I paraphrase: "We all got a few laughs at his expense during the last year. But who are we? He's the 43rd President of the United States."
Here are a bunch of dandy Al Gore quotes like this one:
At an event in Las Vegas on Monday, 09/1800, Gore declared potential breast cancer victims faced "a long waiting line before they could get a biopsy or, uh, or a uh, another kind of, what am I looking for, a sonogram or...." People in the crowd shouted "mammogram."

"Had that happened to Bush the news media would have used it to further the theme that the Texas Governor has a troubled relationship with the English language." - Brian Williams 09/21/00

Astin X Thu, 14th Nov '02, 8:21am My fave: "They misunderestimate me"
Falstaff Thu, 14th Nov '02, 8:46am Nobleman, posts like yours make me look forward to logging on at SP every day!!
Besides, it is not like Bush is the first man in the oval office to make... interesting remarks.
Mathetais Thu, 14th Nov '02, 2:48pm Had to scan where you all are from ... looks like mostly Europeans ... so I'll keep my "If you don't like him, feel free to leave" comment to myself.
Must be easy to throw stones across the pond. Sure would hate for Bush to keep up Clinton's economic modle though ... you all might not have any more American built Role-Playing games to entertain yourselves with.
Thus endeth the rant.
joacqin Thu, 14th Nov '02, 5:55pm Gosh Mathethais you are getting more and more rightwing by the minute, I thought you were a minister? Been spending too much time together with Shralp? ;)
And atleast I have atleast as much garbage on swedish political leaders but as no one but other swedes have any idea who they are it is pretty pointless to trash them. American presidents now, they are open game and everyone have an opinion.

Shralp Thu, 14th Nov '02, 7:15pm I bring out Mathetais's inner right-winger.
It's a gift.
Capstone Thu, 14th Nov '02, 7:16pm Anyway, support him or not, you have to admit he has problems giving speeches. I don't think that makes him stupid though. I can blow IQ tests out of the water and figure things out in seconds that take many people hours, but I still make dumb comments with embarrassing regularity. There's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip.
Mathetais Thu, 14th Nov '02, 10:57pm Shralp, first you bring out my inner child. Then you make my inner child touch naughty things ...
now this???
I don't know whether to bless you or curse you.
Can I have another Ding-Dong???
Nobleman Thu, 14th Nov '02, 11:12pm I didn't know you were a deliveryboy Shralpie dear. :1eye:

SlimShogun Fri, 15th Nov '02, 2:22am Anyway, support him or not, you have to admit he has problems giving speeches. I don't think that makes him stupid though. I can blow IQ tests out of the water and figure things out in seconds that take many people hours, but I still make dumb comments with embarrassing regularity. There's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip. I'm glad someone finally gets it. It's possible to find Bush's accidental humour hilarious and still respect the decisions he makes in office...
scarampella Fri, 15th Nov '02, 3:16am If only everyone who hadn't liked Clinton would have 'felt free [enough] to leave'... one can only wish.
I guess an economic plan that results in the elimination of the national debt is not very desireable considering the speed with which our current pres. is trying to outdo Reagan in spending our tax dollars.
How one can compare a persons sudden inability to find a word they are looking for to anothers attempts to revise the grammar and vocabulary of the English language is beyond my capacity to grasp.

Jack Funk Fri, 15th Nov '02, 4:10pm Scamp,
If only everyone who hadn't liked Clinton would have 'felt free [enough] to leave'... one can only wish. You would have had to change the name of the country to the United Socialist States of America.
Mathetais Fri, 15th Nov '02, 4:37pm Scarampella;
I was close to leaving! If algore had made it into the oval office, you'd be speaking to the newest Australian on the block! :p  :D
Seriously though, Regan spent, but the economy boomed right when Clinton got into office. Is that the magic of Bill, or a delayed effect from teh Trickle Down theory????
things that make you go "Hmmmmm"
scarampella Fri, 15th Nov '02, 10:08pm Definitely not the trickle down theory!
The only place money trickles is into overseas accounts and CEO's pockets. Which are way too big if you ask me.
Back in 1990 I left the country and moved to Spain. Although not the only reason for moving, I was thoroughly disgusted with the politics that had taken place over the previous decade and was definitely far from a proud American. Ollie North pushed me over the top. The worst thing about him was the way the Rep's started calling him a hero and the public lay there like a deaf dog. I was disgusted with Bush senior who seems like a Rhodes scholar compared to his son. Somewhere I've got a book of Bush-isms from 10 yrs ago.
Seeing one's country from another is an eye-opening experience I would suggest everyone try sometime.

On a more serious note, though, I will have to agree with several posters on this one. Getting tongue-twisted mid-speech or forgetting the odd word - especially considering the number of speeches this man gives - does not make one an idiot. Happens to the best of us. Maybe I'm being naive here, but last I checked Harvard did not award MBAs to simians...
Farthy Sun, 17th Nov '02, 1:12pm If his oratory skills are so bad, how come he did better than Gore at the debates? Maybe superior speech-writers?...
Although Bush does have his...lackings, he's not all bad. Oh, come on. Ah, never mind.
PS: My 200th post - yes!
