Well, statistically, boys are born slightly more than 50% of the time. So, amking a straight guess, odds slightly favor the birth of a boy. Of course, family tendencies do play a role, as my own family is very girl heavy. It puzzles many doctors... :D

A boy! For every Y chromosome for humans in the world, there's 3 X chromosomes. And the Y is the one that gives us testosterone.

Congrats Mojahed - IMO it's irrelevant wether it will be a boy or a girl - as long as it's a kid :1eye:

Ragusa, it is genetically impossible for two humans to give birth to anything but a human child.

In the average family, the odds favor a boy for the first born, and a girl as the second born. Yes, I know it doesn't really make sense, seeing as how the X chromosomes are so much more common, but I don't feel like giving you the genetic reason. If you really want it, e-mail me and I'll send you all carbon copies of the information.

I personally think it will be a girl - my wife's family is very VERY girl-heavy.

If however it is a boy, I will struggle with my wife (she doesn't want to) to call him Vladimir - as my father.

For the girl's mane I don't know.

As for the poll for names: I doubt you folk know a lot of russian names (except Anna Kurnikova ... :) )
