View Full Version : Zombies unfairly discriminated against

Have you ever noticed that in video games, movies, and TV shows, zombies, which have brains, muscles, and other things of that nature (however rotten), are portrayed as shuffling creatures with no intelligence whose entire reason for being is to feed on the living? In the Resident Evil series, zombies just stumble around moaning, biting people, and getting back up after being shot, and were purposely given such bad A.I. that they walk into walls occasionally. Not just bumping. They continue to move their feet. Wheras skeletons are portrayed as people without organs, skin, and muscles. They move quickly and naturally, walk without dragging their feet, use weaponry, wear armour, and even sometimes wield magic! Don't even get me started on vampires...

Of all the creatures of the undead legions, zombies are always the weakest, and stupidest. (Excepting mummies, of course, but they're basically zombies wrapped up. Harder to move.)

I say that zombies are being discriminated against! Who's with me?

<THIS IS A JOKE. DO NOT TAKE ME SERIOUSLY. I AM NOT INSANE>

Woo hoo! Down with dicrimination! Let us make an organisation to stop the discrimination of zombies!
And seriously, the whole salt destroys zombies but not skeletons things it stupid, skeletons are just zombies lacking flesh.

Just my opinion, but in Morrowind, I'd MUCH rather face a skeleton or two then equal number and levels of bonewalkers (The Dunmer name for zombies). However, other then that, you're right.

This reminds me of the Discworld and the Ankh-Morporkian league for undead rights...

Funny topic! I've always figured that Zombies don't take much magical skill to create, so low-level mages or clerics make them. It takes more skill to animate something without any muscles, ligaments, etc, and so skeletons move better, as more magic has been placed into them. My 2 cents.

I think it has to do with smell, the zombies are so disturbed and intoxicated by their own BO that they cant think at all and thus they lumber around aimlessly.

Too true

Skeletons are entirely animated by magic while Zombies have magic to help them animate themselves.

as in magic to make them move and act. Now imagine going around half rotted. wouldn't YOU walk into walls?

A skeleton would be a bit creaky though.
A zombies remaining flesh should accepts some of a blow. A skeleton should have all its bones shattered it someone hits it.

Yes - but if it takes more magic to animate a skeleton surely the mage responsible will put more protections on it so that it would stay up longer. Skeletons wouldn't be creaky as the bones would be magically help together though not necesserily touching so they creak.

Consider that skeletons have 1 hit die versus zombies having 2...
