Intentioner of the Damned

Amoungst my group of friends, we thought up a word to use whenever anyone got caught out, or when one person gets one over on another person; or even as a curse, whenever necessary.
We came up with a word that we still use now, however, we found the word in a dictionary and it means the exact opposite of what we intented its use for. A thesaurus even said,"the opposite of a curse". Some places say that it even means, "to grant a favour".
Wierd eh?
I guess the whole point of this is, has an ironic thing like this happened to anyone else??
*Walks off, thinking that everyone is gonna ignore this topic*
