What is the one "superpower" you want to have? Forget X-Men and Supermen etc, since I'm talking about Fantasy more or less. Some ability from a PC/console/PnP game. Not a broad ability like "healing" which would include healing, protecting, resurrecting, and all of these with an infinite ratio of strength. But more detailed abilities. Like mere healing only, or resurrection only, invisibility, etc. Can't really describe exactly what I mean but I think you get the idea.

I'm sure many would want to fly, and be able to become invisible. But I'd hope we get a pearl or two of real innovation. Add a small explanation of why, as well. Just one isn't needed, as that would limit what people have to say too much.

I would probably go for either being able to heal sicknesses (cancer, AIDS, poison, etc), or then teleportation. Some sort of "communicate with animal kingdom" ability would be good as well.

I fit was a power to benifit others, then i agree with what you said, to find cures for diseases.

For a more selfish power, ability to become irresistable to chicks. Not a permenant thing, but to be able to use it once a day, as with most special abilities (chicks chasing after you all day would get a bit tiresome)

There's a test titled 'Which supernatural power do you possess?' or something like that. If you wish, I can give you a link. My result was X-Ray vision. It's a good test I bet, because the rationale behind that was quite fitting.

shapechanging would be cool. "I'm an eagle! No wait, I'm an antelope, ah wait, the ground is 20 kilometres below me, I'm an eagle again!"

Time Stop or Invisibility

Scrying. You know, with a crystal ball or reflecting pool. Aside from the obvious perverted, cheap thrills type stuff, it would be cool to see what really goes on in the Oval Office, in Saddam's palaces, etc. And the dressing room at the Victoria's Secret lingerie show. Definitely that one. Forget Sadaam and W. Gimmee Heidi Klum!!

Psionics.

This is interesting... I think I would, in essence, want the same kind of ability to affect minds as Corran Horn has in the Star Wars novels. It would be perfect... I could make peole see and believe evrything I wanted, play with their memories, make them do what I wanted... oh, the sweet power!

Or, the ability to absorb and discharge energy, which Corran also has, would be swee´t, too. It's the trick Vader used to reflect the blaster bolts in Cloud city. I could, in essence, stick my fingers into an outlet, suck up some power, and then zap someone á la the Emperor...

Can't really decide. Can I have them both? It could be called beíng a Halcyon... :p

This is a hard one, but I would have to say the ability to control the elements (all of those on the Periodic table, as well as Fire, Water, Earth and Air, but that raises the question of whether or not Earth counts as an element, as it is basis for the others because it provides a place for them to exist, anyway, back to my post)

EDIT - Nevermind those, maybe, but if I could become immortal, then screw those! I wouldn't want to be undead, unless I was a vampire who could take sunlight (like that ring they had in Buffy the Vampire Slayer that made Spike immune to sunlight and wounds) then I could enjoy eternal life, so many think that would be a curse, but to be able to witness all the years of the Earth would be a gift unrivaled by anything!

Failing that, a big +6 sword with light, fragrancing, regenerating platemail armour, and amazing ability in using both of them. :D

Iron Body, and an Amulet of Contingencied Time Stop, which casts Time Stop whenever something threatens me [a bullet, a car, a fist] so I can cast Iron Body, or like, move, and THEN cast Iron Body. It would give off the impression that I have preminisions of danger. Like spider sense or something.

Oh, and Tenser's Transformation and a Cloak of Improved Invisibility and Etherealness. For all of those times I have to set /noclip off.

I'd like the power of Groundhog day at will. I.e. I can try out every different possible combination of a day so that I get it right, then I can move on to the next day. It would have also saved me a hell of a lot of embarressment back in Year 10...

As for me ... this is a tough one. Part of my mind is thinking "What minor seeming power could I have that would actually turn out to be the biggest power of all???" Like Magneto ... who'd a thought the Master of Magnaitivity would be such a butt-kicker.

Being more myself, I think I'd want a power from the "Rhapsody" Trilogy from Elizabeth Haydon. Achmed has a path-finding ability. He can look down any road and see where it will end up. I'd like the ability to do that with choices. "If I decide to take this job / move to this house / eat this hot-fudge sunday" what will the results be. Then I could see various possible futures and groom my decisions to fit the future I think would be best.

There would be a few combat applications to this power also I guess, just so I can live long enough to enjoy the future I've seen (if I strike his leg, what will the counter-strike be ... seeing that instantly and being able to respond in combat would be a little advantage!)

heh, if living somewhere where sheep are abundant and chicks aren't, you would need daily use of a certain special ability - a spell of creepyness.

On casting, the caster is given:
cloak of rain protection (a wax jacket, so as to look inconspicuous when out in a field);
boots of grounding (wellington boots) and;
racket of cursed tennis playing (a stringless racket).

Think about it, as i don't want to have to explain it in detail. I think i probably would get kicked if i did that.

Invulnerability (and I mean the real stuff, not with any "kryptonite" or any other weakness). Or maybe teleport.
Just Imagine how cool it would be, nothing can destroy you, you don't have to breathe, you don't have to eat, you can't die, you can be in the center of an atomic explosion and it doesn't even scratch you. You don't get sick. One bad thing is you don't get drunk, but that's ok.

I would like to have psionic abilities, manipulating minds and energies would be so cool, telekenisis, divining, flaming, mind reading, levitaion. The works...

Failing that the ability to go borrowing. Bored one day? lie down in your bed and go into the minds of animals and people going round and doing what you'd like.

There isn't an English word for it, but I believe the proper word is - Kilmangri.The ability to shapeshift into a fictional character in your imagination. however it would only work if you knew sufficient amounts of knowledge about the person or you would be stuck between the two unable to change back.

Failing any of these I would simply like to create dimensional rifts nd able to go and rule Chirofen, as is my destiny :hippy:

I imagine it would be a prehensile, monkey-like tail (we are primates) :D probably hairless to the extent that our arms are. Actually, imagine you could wrap one of your arms around something, it would be similar to that, though thinner.

What other super powers would people like?

Spiderclimb, wraithform, control weather, speak with plants, polymorph other, etc.

The power I would wish to have would be, classically; eternal-life/youth. It would be cool to live in year 3000 and so on...

Pfff... Ability to cure cancer or AIDS? What for? There will be new diseases and new people.
