Why the hell are they releasing 'The Patriot' in England? From what I've seen of it the general plot is one of Mel Gibson and other such people cruelly killing nice, friendly British people. There'll be riots before long.

Well who ever siad Hollywood types are smart? Money hungry, yes, but smart...?

The Patriot is amoung a small trend in Hollywood films to portray the British as cruel and evil. Historicaly speaking the Patriot is crap. Mel Gibson can do increadible feats with a musket that no one could ever do in real life. Trust me, I work with muskets every day so I know. In real life he would have been dead reaaaaaaaly fast. The atrocities that the British commit in the movie, such as when they burn the women and children in the church, are taken from actual Nazi atrocities from world war 2.
It would seem that the Americans want to lay the blame on others and cover up the fact that they slaughtered thousands of Native American Indians and kept slavery for 40 years after the British abolished it.

got to love those americans, always trying to make the british look bad, I hope they realise they wouldn't exist with out there help, and yes, the americans were very barbaric to there native peoples, maybe they should take a lesson out from the romans, and besides, how many americans WERE killed in there little war, about 3,000 maybe, and in a 7 year period, that isn;t to bad.... look at what is happening to bosnia, and there independence attemps, also, i'de like to say if the british burnt down everything, america would cease to exist, need i say more
