Follow up question: Who didn't vote for their local team?

I didn't. Senators DO suck, but it's hilarious watching them play again the Leafs.

Hey, shut up! Just because I think Senators suck, doesn't mean I want everyone to go about announcing that!

Love hockey, but not very likely that I can vote for a local side. Basingstoke wasn't on there ;)

If I still lived in Oslo I would still be going every week like I used to as a kid, but I don't suppose my local team there would make much headway in the NHL either.

Still I've always followed the Penguins over there so they got my vote.

Honerable mention also goes to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for having the best name by a mile. I might have to look out for them more often. :)

I'm swedish, but my team has always been the St Louis Blues... or well, it has since '95, when I spent hours and hours playing a bad demo of an even worse hockey game, called Brett Hull Hockey '95.. ah, I don't know why I got obsessed with it, but I did, in the end I had all the Blues lines memorized, and then when I got my hands on the EA Sports NHL games I kept playing the blues... so around '98 or'99 I knew all there was to know about each player, even though I hadn't watched one game, not even on tv.

I voted for the Penguins. As long as Mario is healthy, they'll go far.

I had to give the Canadiens the vote, even if it is more out of sympathy than anything else. I have lived my whole life in Montreal and hockey is not a sport here, it's a religion. But, hey, after Theodore's spectacular play last season - especially in the playoffs - who knows?

The Habs(Montreal) aren't very good, but I'm born there and they are still my favourite team... Not to mention a certain Finnish hockey player...

Is it me or is this ice hockey we are talking about? or just normal hockey?

If its ice hockey, do you guys like watching it because you see people ram into each other and go all haywire? Man ... if i were you guys, i'd do the same too :)

Although I'm a Leaf fan, I must admit that this season, they blow ass.

Sniper, it's just a great game. All the fighting and bashing has nothing to do with that. If i wanted to watch that i'd rent a Mike Tyson video. :D

No Boston fans at all? That's surprising, given that they're an Original Six team and they're one of the top teams in the eastern conference right now.

Boston is one of the topteams every season, but what really matters is who holds the Stanleycup in the end. And Boston fails to do that every year again.

Kinda reminds me of the Leafs. They make the playoffs year after year and can't seem to bring home the Cup. And yet, they've got tons of fans.

Maybe it's because Boston is a baseball city too, so the sporting interests are divided.

Have you heard? For the first time in decades, the Air Canada Center is not sold out for all the home games! I even know people who don't care how they play, unless they are playing the Senators!

Go Dallas! Mike Modano is the greatest player on whole Earth!
After last year's bad season, they will win the Stanley cup this year.
