If you would travel the world ... what would you do? Where would you go ... and how?

Travelling with my finger on the map I sometimes thought about driving to Moscow by train and the taking the transsibirian railway to Vladivostok ... then travelling china, visiting Peking and the great wall and returning taking the silk road by car through Kashmir (wouldn't there be this silly war), travelling to Nepal, stopping at the Mount Everest base camp, going on through India to Bombay where I'd take the ship to Hongkong and later Japan, and make a short visit to Tsingtau before returning to Cologne. That would be about an estimated 35.000km (or 21.800 miles)

The more comfortable alternative would be to make a luxurious Zeppelin cruise around the world (... of course I would only take new great helium filled airship Luftschiff NT from the Zeppelin works - for patriotism - and safety :D )

i would go to new york city and beat up all the people who have been rude to me in the past there. if i can find them. on second thought that could lead to credence for them to be rude and to a jail term for myself, so maybe ill just rent an expensive hotel and eat lots of sub sandwiches.

You'll probably find me roaming the countryside in Scotland, "inspecting" the production environments of various whisky distilleries while continously humming "Flight of the Bumblebee" whereever I go...

Damn i would like to go everywhere. But i would likte to experience the american culture for half a year or something. Then there is always the west indies it would rock to lie on the beach there and sip on a colour full drink. Im not really interested in europe first i live there, and second those european countries i have been to hasnt been very different from sweden where i live so i would like to travel farther away. Ragusa´s plan sounds nice even though it is a tad bit uncomfortable for my taste, base camp, brrrr.

Somebody actually wants to come to New England?? Inconceivable!

I'd like to spend a month or two travelling Europe, staying with friends, and maybe actually meeting some of the people from SP.

(I'll let you know my itinerary when I win the lottery. :p )

No takers for a trip to beautiful Delaware, the Home of Tax Free Shopping, eh? Oh well, you don't know what you're missing!!! Well, maybe you do! :D ;)

Delaware!! You're kidding me!! Come to South Dakota!!! We've got everything here!! Like... uhmmm... ask me later and I'm sure I will have thought of something!!!

Ragusa: Now thats a plan!! However I'd have to pass on the trans-siberian railway. Eight days on a train would make me sick. And other than Lake Bikal I'm probably not missing much. Skip Vladivostok and go striaght to Beijing.
First I'd have to tour Europe. Starting in London, I'll head up into Edinbourgh and Glasgow, then hop on over to Oslo, then to Stockholm, then down to Copenhagen, Berlin, Brussels, The Hague, Paris, Bern, Venice, Milan, Florence, Rome, then up to Vienna, Dresden, and Munich. Then to Moscow and the Asian tour, then to Australia, to check out Melbourne and Sydney, and get lost in the outback somewhere. Then on the way home I'll stop in Honululu, then fly over to Tiajuana(w00t!), then back up to home sweet home(LOL!) Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

I suppose I should go vsit my family in Ireland before I do anything else. I've been all through US and Canada. Nothing right now strikes me as must see...maybe Britain after Ireland, then move on to Northern Europe.

I want to visit Australia and New Sealand and Canada first. South America would also be great. I visited almost every country in Europe but never been in another continent.

I used to have a real prejudice against visiting the same place more than once because I wanted to see *everything*. Now I find myself returning again and again to places I really loved. I spent Christmas holidays in Bavaria twice and I am now planning my third trip to southern Spain. And I go back to my country of origin, France, every chance I get. The three "new" places I'd really like to go are Madagascar, Vietnam, and Antarctica.

[Edit: As for "how", I *love* railways, so my dream-world travel method would be the Orient Express.]

Headbanger- interesting that you put commonwealth countries for your first 3! Any particular reason (e.g. studied the history)? Or do you just like untamed scenery and English-speakers? :) If you make it to Canada, you can come for dinner.
