Blackadder is one of the most hilarious set of series I've ever watched. I have to say though, one of my friends is exactly like Edmund in the first series (In other words, he's a dork)

My personal favorite was the second series with Mad Queen Bess. The episode where he fell in love with his new manservant (who was a woman in disguise) was the best comedy I've ever seen.

Yeah, with the altered lyrics for "Green sleeves".

Morningstar, if you are interested to know, in the third Blackadder show, Edmund Blackadder was a frustrated butler who worked for the incredibly stupid Crown Prince of England. It wasn't the best serie IMHO, but it had some good episodes.

I love Blackadder! It is magnificient! I cant understand that the same person that created Blackadder also created the horror that is Mr Bean. I like the Tudor series but the WW*1* is close at its heels!

I second Joacqin's thoughts. What makes me crazy is when people refer to Mr. Atkinson as "Mr. Bean". He did such brilliant stuff, like Blackadder, before producing that revolting lowest-common-denominator persona, but what made him really famous was Mr. Bean. I can hardly bear to think about what that says about viewing audiences. Blackadder was wonderful. I have the WWI season on video, but the Tudor era one was my favorite.

Nah, don't get too elitist  here.

Mr. Bean brought a lot of people joy. It was "speecheless" comedy, therefore reached a giantic international audience. Sure, I personally prefer Black Adder, but that does not mean, that I stare down on my 8-year-old brother who loves Mr. Bean.

I LOVE Blackadder! I have seen most of the second series, and most of the first. But I have not seen much of the third and fourth series :( I love all those I have seen though! I second, or is third, people's comments on Mr.Bean. I really don't now, nor ever did, find Bean funny, but blackadder  !
