View Full Version : Anyone seen the movie Dungeons and Dragons?? Black Death Wed, 20th Jun '01, 9:26pm Edited and gone [This message has been edited by Black Death (edited June 20, 2001).] Taluntain Wed, 20th Jun '01, 9:55pm Not only is your post in the wrong forum, it's also so filled with typos that it's a murder to read. If you're to lazy to read the stuff you post, don't bother. Now go read the forum rules at http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/faq.html and don't post again until you've memorized them. Mods, please move this topic. Black Death Wed, 20th Jun '01, 10:10pm sorry mr perfect i just started i diden't even know u could edit posts. And since when is typos agenst the law? Graz73 Wed, 20th Jun '01, 10:27pm This guys post reminded me of something... Who else has seen this movie? I watched the video with BG2 in mind... I was constantly wondering what class/allignment/proficiencies/gear that the characters in the movie posessed. Those wands of Dragon sommoning would have made truely unstoppable weapons. If that movie had been a success, (Which is totally impossible) it would have been great to see a BG2 like movie-tie-in game... I was thinking that someone could make a custom BG2 party based on the movie's characters.. mage girl (2nd level?) corsair guy (4th level) thief (3rd level) berzerker dwarf (5th level) elven ranger (or maybe stalker) (9th level) what does anyone else think? GONMAR Wed, 20th Jun '01, 10:57pm This movie was a success money-wise...so we will probably see another one. It didn't cost very much to make and the DVD is selling well(number 5 right now). It's also doing well in other countries besides the US(on the big screen) Taluntain Wed, 20th Jun '01, 11:04pm First the guy doesn't read the rules at registration page, next thing he does is get mad because of it, and third, he deletes his own question. We have an Idiot of the week plaque material here. Septic Yogurt Wed, 20th Jun '01, 11:06pm i want the plaque next week... Igor Thu, 21st Jun '01, 12:44am Yeah I read about a second part coming soon. If I find the link I'll post it. Graz73 Thu, 21st Jun '01, 12:49am A sequel? I thought the movie was pretty terrible... I'm surprised... Orkrist the Cleaver Thu, 21st Jun '01, 1:40am I just rented the movie last night and I barely made it through. Its humiliating to know such a film was made about something I have a relationaship with. There was also a BG2 "trailer/preview" at the beginning of the movie. It was the best part of the whole thing. Bowie Thu, 21st Jun '01, 4:16am I rented it sometime last week and enjoyed it for what it is. I thought it was pretty obvious that there was a planned sequal, with all the "he doesn't even know his potental" talk. Plus they've got to explain what happened at the end at the grave. Crawl Thu, 21st Jun '01, 7:04am I just think they spent too much time BSing in the movie and way too little time with character development or action. I mean, they wasted that whole dungeon sequence where he got the rod. Man, it must be nice to walk around a place for 2 minutes, fall down a hole, and go into a huge treasure trove with a rod that summons dragons. And the dialog was atrocious in parts, as was the acting (or overacting I should say). Now the visuals were outstanding, except the parts where they showed just the dragons fighting. That looked obviously CGI. The other scenes with the dragons and all the spell effects were nice, though the often overused "magic powder" stuff was a bit much. Hmmm....magic powder. Must have been what the producers were using when they took such a good idea and wasted it. Hopefully next time they can do it better. I'm all for making it entertaining and fun, but kill of the Wayens brother for good early in the sequal, please! ;) [This message has been edited by Darien Noella (edited July 07, 2001).] Igor Thu, 21st Jun '01, 1:16pm OK here's the link http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=9215 |
