View Full Version : Is LOTR ruining your love life?
LKD Thu, 27th Mar '03, 3:37am My wife is obsessed with Viggo Mortenson. She isn't much for fantasy , but ever since I made her watch TFOTR she's been going on and on about how hot this guy is. GRRRR! It's not like I go on and on about how hot I think Selma Hayek is (she's my current favorite actress for looks). Mathetais mentioned that his wife was hot for Legolas for a while, and so I'm wondering -- does anyone else find that the actors in LOTR are turning their significant others' heads?
Hephaestus Thu, 27th Mar '03, 3:55am I don't have a significant other, but my mom and sister both think that Aragorn is hot.(Though half the time they can't say his name.)
That is
ejsmith Thu, 27th Mar '03, 6:04am Very interesting.
I think for Arabwel and Ezellohar, LotR IS their love life.
Other than that, the chicks that play in LotR are most disappointing. I have heard it said, several times, that Cleopatra was not really all that beautiful. She was just a complete and utter slut in bed. Like a porn star, except not nearly as prude.
The LotR chicks are Superprude.
Not. Aroused.
Shell Thu, 27th Mar '03, 8:48am Well I'm female and I fancy practically the whole cast :)
Orlando Bloom, Viggo Mortensen, Aragorn, Sean Bean..........................YUM
perhaps you could show your wife Viggo Mortensen's website. he's not half as good looking in reality ;)
Arabwel Thu, 27th Mar '03, 9:18am At least for my part, EJ hit the jackpot. My crrent love life IS the LotR guys.
What can I say? The real world keeps disappointing me. So te completely unattainable I can always have, for I know I will never actually HAVE it. Makes sense, yes?
(*runs off to cuddle the elves*)
Charlie Thu, 27th Mar '03, 10:12am Depaara,
Be careful. Viggo Mortensen has a history with wives. Haven't you seen 'A Perfect Murder?' ;)
Rallymama Thu, 27th Mar '03, 10:57am None of the LOTR guys do really it for me, so there's no impact here.
Mathetais Thu, 27th Mar '03, 4:21pm Fortunatly for me, this was a win-win situation.
Win #1 ... she left Fellowship of the Rings extremely "excited". Put that into the context of my life at the time (1 year old baby, sleep deprived, seriously deprived in other areas) and it lead to a great night.
Win #2 ... my wife got real sour on Orlando Bloom and realized that reality (me) is better than fantasy (him).
Jack Funk Thu, 27th Mar '03, 5:17pm Whatever turns her on!
Faragon Thu, 27th Mar '03, 6:12pm The guys from LotR don't do it for me either Rallymama
Dragon's Jewel Thu, 27th Mar '03, 7:06pm It's the bow-and-arrow thing. I think that's a turn-on, in a sense. But the guys themselves, taken without any heavy weaponry? Naw, it's not for me.
Eze Thu, 27th Mar '03, 8:57pm LOTR IS my love-life as well. And I am bloody content with it. Karl Urban is like the hottest thing on Earth ever seen.
Ghost Ship rules, BTW.
There aren't any fanciable or shaggable males i know in Rl.
chevalier Fri, 28th Mar '03, 1:01am What love life?
But referring to other people, it's all that because every woman and girl is dreaming of a paladin. If there's no paladin (as in LoTR) then a ranger at least or even a fighter for those turned on by muscles.
Arabwel Fri, 28th Mar '03, 8:52am Hate to tell you this, Chevalier, but it's not the muscles... it's everything :p
I unfortunately know fanciavble males in RL: And they fancy my so-called friends :/
(I need to see Ghost Ship, too!)
Eze Fri, 28th Mar '03, 2:12pm I am NOT dreaming of a pally. No. I really don't think that pallies like roasting preppies, while talking about things like Savage Garden, LotR male actors and other inane toppics Eze blabbers 'bout all the time.
See?
Arabwel Fri, 28th Mar '03, 3:47pm Paladins aren't really that cool... I hacve to admit that I actually fancy Sauron, too :D
(*gets dragged off by Elrond & Legsy to get her head examined*)
Mathetais Fri, 28th Mar '03, 4:51pm Paladins aren't really that cool I take offense at that!!!! ;)
Arabwel Fri, 28th Mar '03, 5:02pm Okay, how about UI re-phrase that: Paladins IN GENERAL are not that cool... They get all their fame from guys such as our dear Mat and Chevalier :D
(Why, Legolas, those stockings DO look fetching!)
Shell Fri, 28th Mar '03, 8:48pm It was Legolas's wig that did it for me...I love guys with long hair ;)
@Arabwel - SAURON?????
Mathetais Fri, 28th Mar '03, 9:06pm Thanks Arabwel ;)
Shura Sat, 29th Mar '03, 9:05am *Jumps out to make an anti-paladin remark only to realize that he is really, really too old for this anymore and slinks back into the shadows, sheathing his blades*
Heh. I don't have a love life.
That point aside, the LOTR females really fail to excite me, though I do appreciate their acting skills and performance.
Besides, on fantasy ladies, the female characters in Elaine Cunningham's books are the most intriuging.
;)
Eze Sat, 29th Mar '03, 10:58am Actually, if I would have to choose between Arwen and Éowyn, I'd definitely take Éowyn.
Cool. I don't have bloody lovelife. But go and see Ghost Ship. Then you will not have any lovelife either.
(Karl, STOP waving that Rohirrim porn mag in front of my eyes, I want to bloody read!)
chevalier Sat, 29th Mar '03, 1:32pm Okay, how about UI re-phrase that: Paladins IN GENERAL are not that cool... They get all their fame from guys such as our dear Mat and Chevalier I suppose I should take that as a compliment :p
I still insist that all women and girls are dreaming of a paladin only not all realise the fact...
Register Sat, 29th Mar '03, 2:20pm 1. You are going way too far off topic.
2. My g/f doens't liked the movies and she (just like me) thinks that moviestars looks plastic. And they does.
