Sniper Sun, 7th Jan '01, 6:18pm Heck man! Every forum needs the bad boys in different areas and my bad boy area is critizism! Thats my nature! Thats the enviroment i've been brought up in! You go parading in my area you love Marilyn Manson and Slipknot, you'll get your bollocks chopped off (not literally)! Of course there are the people who do like Marilyn Manson and slipknot but those that don't outnumber those that do 50 - 1...You would not want to be in school!
Anyway, someone's gotta keep the nerves running high, the tension high and the chance of an explosion alive when those other dudes are not doing so! And thats where i come in (occasionally) Also there are going to be people who have characteristics/traits that you may find annoying...but thats ****ING LIFE! GET ****ING USED TO IT! and its as you say, no offence...
Blackthorne TA Sun, 7th Jan '01, 6:20pm Whoa! Easy there herf! :)
Don't take what others say so seriously... As you said they're his opinions; you don't have to agree with them. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and if you disagree, simply say why; no need to yell obscenities...
Hmmm... Lessee, I think the last CD I bought was by Matchbox 20...
herf Sun, 7th Jan '01, 6:24pm no offence of course, but if i see soemone with a trait that i dont like and that trait is always in my face then i just have to tell you!!
Evil Sniper Sun, 7th Jan '01, 7:31pm Ah! Battle is commencing and it is a pity...as i am one as Sniper i have the same tastes in music as him...So even though he is my enemy i must agree with him on this...
Lukki Wed, 10th Jan '01, 9:08pm LOL Someone listens to stuff like Blink 182?! Offspring?! Barenaked Ladies?!
....?!?!? All of it... they just suck.
<journal updated>
If you are poor, ever. Create a boy band but YOU MUST BE THE MANAGER. The singers are weird/gay but you get 40-60% from the money.
<journal updated>
Too much BG2...
Anyway, my music taste is mostly metal. I have never bought any music.
Here is a few example of my taste.
Manowar
Nightwish
They are both HEAVY metal bands.
I hate black/death metal. Stupid Sa†an believers... Religions suck :)
Neverworlder Wed, 10th Jan '01, 11:38pm Yeah! God sucks!
Sniper Thu, 11th Jan '01, 7:37pm Yeah Satanic/Death bands suck! Heaven will not be pleased with those bums!!
Septic Yogurt Thu, 11th Jan '01, 8:18pm Sniper, you actually think they really worship satan and do all that stuff they claim to do? Its all just publicitys stunts to get attention.
Btw, when they aren't screaming Slipknots music is rockin. But I swich off when they open there mouths and start do go on like hooligans, never enjoyed the melodys of Mr Manson however.
Sniper Fri, 12th Jan '01, 12:37am What does btw mean?
And yeah Manson doesn't figure in my music tastes...
Taluntain Fri, 12th Jan '01, 12:45am Btw=by the way
The Wise, The Grey Mon, 15th Jan '01, 9:25am Some boys are raised by a father that shows them around the metal/wood shop, others are encouraged to be competitive athletes, and then there are people like me that were raised by music-crazed hippies, thus a tasteful lust for music was spawned, and somewhere along the line, an uncanny nack for manifesting an arduous run-on sentence.
My father and I will agree that roughly 97% of what can be found on the radio is ****, quite literally. Kid Rock, a badass? He's only a few hairs shy of personifying the lips, clitoris and all. Slipknot, how many drummers do you really need? I think it's a ploy to distract a listener's ear from the fronts and mediocrity. Call me crazy, but intelligence and soul actually take a toll on what I listen to...
Blues, Hip Hop, Progressive, Alternative and Southern Rock, as well as many artists that don't fall under any particular label. To name a "few"; Widespread Panic, B.B. King, The Allman Brothers Band, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, A Tribe Called Quest, Common, The Roots, Mos Def, Talib Qweli, Eminem, Xhibit, The Black Crowes, Son Volt, Blue Mountain, Traffic, The Tragically Hip, Indigenous, Eric Clapton, Little Feat, Frank Zappa, Gang Starr, O.C., Outkast, Goodie MOb, The Kenny Wayne Shephard Band, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Jonny Lang, Susan Tedeschi, Robbie Robertson, The Band, Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and The Heartbeakers, KRS-One, Rage Against The Machine, 2Pac, Bonnie Raitt, Joni Mitchell, Damn... the list goes on and on.
I've noticed, people don't like being told that they are musically ignorant, but if your musical world exists in an FM frequency, my apologies friend, but that's where you are. Remember... "Denying your ignorance, is ironically, one of the most ignorant things you can do"
The Wise, The Grey Mon, 15th Jan '01, 9:29am P.S. Who else is a 2nd generation hippie around here? How about old school hippies? We're like roaches, we'll never go away.
Sniper Mon, 15th Jan '01, 7:11pm Hear Hear i think...
Satiana Fearbringer Tue, 16th Jan '01, 6:12pm Hey Wise, I couldn't agree more. But, I figured if I started spouting off that kind of stuff, very few people would know what I was talking about anyway. My music collection is about 300 cd's and some old tapes, including a couple of bands I am sure no one has heard of like Wastepaper. I had more, but I have moved around so much I am afraid some got lost, and some got stolen.
Sir Belisarius Tue, 16th Jan '01, 6:20pm I'm on my second cd collection myself. My first was stolen ( I had like 300 at the time) when I moved into my first apartment alone after undergrad. They took the only things of value I had: my cd's and my cd player.
Now when I buy cd's I get something new, and something I used to have that I really liked.
Satiana Fearbringer Tue, 16th Jan '01, 7:24pm Bel, been there, done that. Feel your pain.
Sir Belisarius Tue, 16th Jan '01, 8:03pm Thanks...I'm still a little bitter about it.
Sniper Tue, 16th Jan '01, 9:23pm This is about music tastes. Add Paparoach to my list of music i listen to. As well as Feeder.
hooligan_inc Tue, 16th Jan '01, 9:24pm i also like indie and rap metal.
The Amazing Ooopah Sat, 20th Jan '01, 5:30pm Ugh. Papa Roach.......
;)
Septic Yogurt Sat, 20th Jan '01, 5:42pm Sniper, that papa roach comment is stupid, you say anyone who listens to slipknot and/or that pasty looking bloke are ...
pricks who **** them selves.
When Papa Roach fall into the same category of music that they do....
The Amazing Ooopah Sat, 20th Jan '01, 7:30pm I don't think Papa Roach fall into the same category as the other two, ie - they actually have a small amount of talent, even if I don't like them.
Oh and, many would consider 3 Dollar Bill Y'All (Limp Bizkit's 1st album for those who don't know) fall into the same category as Slipknot......
Sniper Sat, 20th Jan '01, 9:40pm Wow, thats amazing! How do you do that quote thing?
Nah Papa Roach has a slightly rappy side to itthen Slipknot and MM. And i only like the one song Last Resort.
Anyone heard of Buck Rogers by Feeder?
The Amazing Ooopah Sun, 21st Jan '01, 5:23pm If you only like the one song, then how can you say you like em? :)
Oh, and I've just started getting into Linkin Park as well, they rule. Why do us brits get decent bands six months after the US? :(
Sniper Sun, 21st Jan '01, 7:07pm Cos we're backward. Movies in Singapore are released 4-6 months ahead of us. Unless the movie is british of course.
Sapiryl Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 4:42pm I like:
(Modern bands)
Limp Bizkit
Korn
Metallica
Creed
Deftones
*mental block* that song "Mama Said Knock You Out"
Offspring
Weird Al :D
Vertical Horizon
(Older Bands)
Simon and Garfunkle
CCR
*another mental block* "American Pie"
Stan Rogers (Witch of the Westmorland is THE greatest fantasy song)
Beatles
Queen
*crap* "Paint it Black"
Oh, and herf? Sniper? Shut up. You're acting and speaking like the trailer-park-white-trash kids on my old high school bus.
Sir Belisarius Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 4:56pm Here we go...Again! :D
Blackthorne TA Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 5:01pm Yipes! Sapiryl, those comments by herf and Sniper were a while ago, and I think we've gotten them to behave a bit better since then; please don't get them started again! :)
Sir Belisarius Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 5:29pm Just when you thought it was safe to enter the boards......
:D
(Insert Jaws music here)
Shura Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 5:33pm Herf and Sniper are just itching for Sorcerer's fireballs.... :D
I like:
Metallica
Deep Purple
Guns & Roses
Scorpions *awesome*
Led Zeppelin
Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
X Japan (A J-Rock band of suprising instrumental and vocal talent)
Goo Goo Dolls( nice but sometimes too mellow)
I listen to bands like Bon Jovi and Nirvana but I don't really like them. Just don't find them too annoying like the Pop **** (Britney Sync or something like that).
Joan Baez is nice too.
And for pop, which I don't really listen to, Sarah Maclachlan isn't irritating.
I've only heard Marilyn Manson's "sweet dreams" so I can't really pass judgement.
Oh yeah, the so-called 'rock' and alternative these days suck: Matchbox 20, Creed, Hanson and various crap.
Music rules!! :D :D
Lord Moeken Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 7:24pm Just wondering guys (and gals), I'm thinking about throwing a disco party, complete with costumes and a disco ball, what sort of bands would fit this type of gathering? I've got some old copies of:
ABBA
Bee Jees
Marvin Gaye (more soul I think)
Donna Summers
I need some more ideas.
No wise ass comments please ;)
Sir Belisarius Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 8:22pm Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Best bet is to get a couple of those compilation cd's...Like Pure Disco, the 70's...They're always a good call for variety.
I had a wise @$$ comment...But I'll keep it to myself... :D
Lord Moeken Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 8:41pm Good idea (about the compilation cd)
and thanks (for refraining from the comment) :D
Darien Noella Tue, 23rd Jan '01, 9:10pm Sounds like fun! But what would it be without the sound track to Saturday Night Fever?!? It's got the Bee Gees, Kool and the Gang, KC and the Sunshine Band ... A must have for any disco party! :D (*ahem* Not that I ever actually listen to this old thing ...)
Sir Belisarius Wed, 24th Jan '01, 12:51pm Whenever I hear the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack or anything from ABBA, I think about cleaning my house...
That's what my parents listened to on weekends when we did any major house cleaning. Always a good time dancing with your vacuum cleaner early in the morning...
:D
It is a must have for any 70's party though!
Darien Noella Wed, 24th Jan '01, 1:37pm That's funny! My mother listened to Helen Reddy when we cleaned. I know all the words to "I am Woman"! That and "Henry the VIII" by Hermans Hermits. :D
Sir Belisarius Wed, 24th Jan '01, 1:46pm That's too funny! I always complained about the ABBA, but my dad wasn't into AC/DC or U2, so I was always overruled!
Sapiryl Wed, 24th Jan '01, 6:33pm You can get compilation CDs from Time Life company, from the 50's right up to the 80's. I'm pretty sure that you can buy them in stores, but not completely.
And I'm :D sorry for :D bringing up :D the green :D smiley face :D.
Taluntain Wed, 24th Jan '01, 9:10pm Ehm. Try to contain your smiling joy will ya? :p
Sniper Fri, 26th Jan '01, 11:54pm Ok whose accusing me? huh huh? C'mon lets take this outside! Put your dukes up and we'll settle this now! C'mon then! Scared?
Anyway, add stuff like Toca's mircle & steps to disco stuff...not my kind of thing so thats why i probably get it all wrong! :)
Sorl Sat, 27th Jan '01, 1:12am Back to the subject:
As a background for BG I like Genesis Abacab.
The whole CD, with some preferences to Lurker and Keep it dark for the dungeon scenes and Abacab] and Me and Sarah Jane for the brigher side of Farun.
Apart from that I like everything thats hard 'n' heavy like:
The Who, Cream, Whitesnake, Queen, ACDC, Mozart, Wagner, ...
Great Annihilator Sat, 27th Jan '01, 10:13pm What music do I like ?.....
....why the screams of the innocent, cries for mercy from the unbelivers and the howling winds of Pandemonium of course !!!!......
....err!?!?.....
...sorry
.....we talkin' 'bout the real world ????
..oops. Well when I am not polishing up on my Fzoul impersonations, I chill with Coldplay, rock with Radiohead,Placebo and the Chilli Peppers and Game with U2,Electronic,Neworder,Garbage and Depeche Mode.
Yeah,I know.....
....but I was a 70's baby.

hooligan_inc Sun, 4th Feb '01, 8:43pm i can't say I'm a big punk fan, or a fan of "dancetechnogaragetoiletwhatever boom boom icky icky stuff". but I hate neither.
mainly metal, rap, or a combination of the two (cypress hill's latest NE1?) with me
Fatmaka Mon, 5th Feb '01, 12:31pm My music tastes oh?
My favourite sound and music for my ears is when a girl/woman screams when i **** her!
But for music "Black Feredje" (unknown for ya) "Hipodil" and some of D.M.X. (Debel Mazen Hui) Dr.Dre Jay-Z Eminem and course all groups with good tracks!
Big pinpin!

Sniper Mon, 5th Feb '01, 8:01pm Fatmaka, are you alright? I mean u seem quite disturbed. Try listening to the song Hot Dog and that should tell you what your life is like...
Vile Sun, 11th Feb '01, 10:18am um... yes... whatever you say Fatmaka...
I will listen to just about anything although I prefer to listen to rock.
Metallica, Tool, Disturbed, Sevendust, Yngwie (Probably never heard of him. Best guitarist I've ever heard... and I have all the Metallica CDs...)
But I as well like music like Creed, Offspring, Nirvana, etc...
Jimmy, Greatful Dead, Eagles...
Not really much of a rap fan.
Don't get mad people... they're just opinions. Everyone has them.
Neo Thu, 15th Feb '01, 2:30pm I listen to all kinds of music.
Xzibit.
2Pac.
Dr. Dre.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Papa Roach.
Limp Bizkit.
Well that's the music I really like.
Sir Belisarius Thu, 15th Feb '01, 2:36pm Vile - Malmstein (I think I got the spelling right)? He's been around a while...Even an old guy like me knows who he is! LOL :D
Darien Noella Thu, 15th Feb '01, 2:38pm Actually, it's Malmsteen... He's Amazing!!

Sniper Thu, 15th Feb '01, 7:29pm What do you lot think of Papa Roaches 'Last Resort' ? I like it.
Septic Yogurt Thu, 15th Feb '01, 10:07pm Papa Roach are crap, all the songs that they do sound exactly the same and Last Resort is the worst, i'm glad i didnt pay money for the album.
And Blind Guardian are one of the few metal bands I like.

Sniper Sat, 17th Feb '01, 3:10pm Well even though i like it...its nothing special and it does get boring when kids keep on repeating the first 5 seconds of it...
"this is my last resort
Suffication

Thats all they ever sing...
