This is a offshoot of the "what song cant you get out of your head at the moment". What I would like to know is how many people here suffer from what I call triggered songs. Namely when an event or person is encountered some song starts playing in their head.
Ill use one of my own experiences as an example
Meet an girl named Brandy, the result is the song Brandy by Looking Glass
Also when I am with a drunken guy, "What do you do with a drunken salor" (and its off shoots) plays.

In some cases 'moonriver'. It's a mystery for me, I can't discover the logic behind this.
One more of such songs is 'Who wants to live forever'. In case you don't know it's 'there's no place for us, there's no time for us' later on. As well as 'it's all decided for us'. However, it's not really triggered in romantic circumstances since it involves two persons regretting. Exceptions involve mourning people with whom a relationship would start in other, less harsh circumstances. At present one person, two or three in the past. Normally, as I said, it triggers in chivalry-is-dead-and-I-am-a-lich sort of moments of reflection.
There's also 'Miami Ice'. The one from 'River Kwai'. Battle song. Especially when odds are quite clear... Unless it's pure spec ops, then sometimes 'Mission Impossible' is the case ;)
'Imperial March' - chevvy comes in, pretty clear one :D :tie: :D
'Pavane pour une enfante defunte' when something is dying in me. I wonder why it's not playing now
And, last but not least, one Polish song - 'Och, Ziuta'. The singing guy (lyric subject, or what?) is a Count who's singing a cynical serenade to his now-wife who is ugly, repulsive, has had two classes of elementary school, no upbringing etc. She was his chambermaid when he was drunk and she dragged him to the altar. Guess the trigger for this song
Edit: not last, there are some more:
In sad moments, Chopin's Funeral March.
And Dixie when I'm feeling like a rebel and a charming one ;) Dixie played more slowly (Huub Janssen) when it's a social field situation with ladies etc.
And, something mediaeval: 'Triste Espana'. A very stylish court one. Good for elaborate romance etc. Or when I'm feeling particularly like some crusader at the outskirts of the empire left to his own fate.
There's also some mediaeval from Lodoss... but then I just have switch it on, it doesn't really play in my head... Oh, maybe once or twice it has. Crusader sort of theme, I believe. Or is it just an impression? I always associated it with the words 'Ira et dolor' (Anger and pain), the title of some Templar-related piece of poetry. You know, the whole spirit of mediaeval era, crusades and feudalism is in this song.
And, lastly, there's a special song:
When chevvy goes marching on, all lassies turn their heads...
They all want to see him, they all want to touch him, they all want him bad!
You know the tune, hehe (exceed smiley limit per post)

Well, whenever I see a principal at school, I hear "Imperial March," and whenever my friends who're in the band I started come into sight, our song comes into my head, "The Pirate Anthem" :D
Well, also I sometimes randomly hear various overplayed popular music, and whenever my school bus comes over the hill on my street, I hear "In The End" by Linkin Park...
Oh yes, whenever my old Girlfriend comes near, I hear "Andromeda" by Hopesfall, someone very few of you have heard of :)
