Xei Win Toh Fri, 12th Dec '03, 2:28pm I am SOOOO first on this one. Nothing important happened today. Just one more school week. Yay! fade Fri, 12th Dec '03, 2:31pm NOOOO I WANTED TO BE FIRST. When I came on, I just saw 500 replies in #16... so I started refreshing like mad... Anywho, if it'll make you feel any better, you can be honorary first poster  It's still just one school week left. Woo-hoo! Sir Belisarius Fri, 12th Dec '03, 2:46pm Five days til the King Returns!!! I hope they show Prince Imrahil...My favorite minor character!!! Abomination Fri, 12th Dec '03, 3:09pm School's been over for me for ages and I'm never going back! Muaahaahaaa! I've just got a job serving in a pub with some very attractive waitresses :D Iago Fri, 12th Dec '03, 3:15pm Hm, that should teach me a lesson to change settings while not completly sober. Used to be Yago, now I'm Iago. Not a big change anyway. Nobleman Fri, 12th Dec '03, 3:21pm Why don't you donate... I don't have a credit card... I love that one. *goes off roleplaying* Sir Belisarius Fri, 12th Dec '03, 3:24pm Roleplaying? Join ALFA for gods' sake! Nobleman Fri, 12th Dec '03, 3:34pm It is no match to pen and paper campaigns. The fun around the table. The endless possibilites. The beer the food. The atmosphere. *Insert Angel grin* whatever that is :shake: Xei Win Toh Fri, 12th Dec '03, 3:38pm TGIF! (http://www.pbjdance.com) How do you make a word/sentence instead of the URL, while still being a link? Finally understood it from the FAQ thingie on UBB/HTML code... I think... Rallymama Fri, 12th Dec '03, 4:49pm Since the last RB was almost entirely Mama-less, I have to get in on this one early. 8people Fri, 12th Dec '03, 8:21pm You know, I came here to actually say something quite important... but I cannot for the life of me remember what on earth it was. Honestly... I have a worse memory than Dory from finding nemo. Uytuun Fri, 12th Dec '03, 8:23pm Two more days of exams and then: Christmas Hols...so I can finish my yearwork. I love my life. Thank got there are places like SP to vent. I think the social security should pay Tal for all the therapy. YEAH!!!! mmmm, Next week you'll see me very often! :D Xei Win Toh Fri, 12th Dec '03, 8:35pm Just made a search just for fun, and it seems that Tal missed RBP #12 and just went for 13 after 11. Haplo Fri, 12th Dec '03, 9:43pm Uhm... Xei Win Toh see here RBP 12 http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=005679#000000 :D Xei Win Toh Fri, 12th Dec '03, 9:53pm  ! Didn't think BTA would post... But Tal didn't make it so I was partially correct... Ah well, nevermind, Let's ignore this, shall we? I'm getting a cold. Kinda bad timing since most/all important schoolwork is over, and whatnot. I'm gonna go read some old Donald Duck comics, watch tv, eat candy and drink Coke now. See ya! Baldrak Fri, 12th Dec '03, 10:26pm Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? fade Fri, 12th Dec '03, 10:36pm SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS! Sorry I had to, lol. 8people Fri, 12th Dec '03, 10:46pm OH GOD NO! ANYTHING BUT THAT! anyway. I really wish the KoSP would go public. It's sort of died. :( Rotku Fri, 12th Dec '03, 11:36pm It's died more than this before. We'll save it again! But I don't think it's ready to go public, so stop giving Aik ideas! Baezlebub Fri, 12th Dec '03, 11:56pm KoSP is still under development, really. 8People, why not just hit the chatroom every once and a while and try to get other people to post. It's not that hard. dman18 Sat, 13th Dec '03, 12:21am 25-uh, 25-uh! /me does Numba 25 dance! O yea baby, can't wait till Christmas! fade Sat, 13th Dec '03, 12:24am My uncreative personality quickely ran out of ideas. Oh well, not #1. Anyway, what's up with clouds? Ofelix Sat, 13th Dec '03, 3:46am What's KoSP anyway? Yeah it's Friday! FRIDAY! woo-hoo! Malovae Sat, 13th Dec '03, 3:51am Well, I get a few hors sleep and back work again :( Soooo unfair. KoSP - 'Kingdom of Sorcerers Place' I think ? :) ? Oaz Sat, 13th Dec '03, 4:26am Winifred's a cutie. Evil Wes is crazy. Freaky. Blim's a bastard. Malovae Sat, 13th Dec '03, 4:44am Are you talking about Angel? Oaz Sat, 13th Dec '03, 4:56am Indeedy. Must learn 3.5. Must learn 3.5. Must learn 3.5. Must learn 3.5. Must learn 3.5. Rotku Sat, 13th Dec '03, 6:08am Rotku has an archery prize giving tomorrow, and a xmas lunch/dinner thingy as well, all which I helped organise. The stupid thing is that the medals and trophies have finished been made yet, so that's sorta going to ruin the fun. Aikanaro Sat, 13th Dec '03, 9:08am The KoSP is sure as hell not ready to go live. In fact, it is quite possibly resisting the idea with it's own non existant willpower. Rotku Sat, 13th Dec '03, 9:17am Rotku is so tired! He has a terrible head ache and is tired! And what makes that worse is it's so early it is still light outside! *screams* Aikanaro Sat, 13th Dec '03, 9:39am Hmm, yet another One Word Story brutally murdered. How about this, at the end of each Random Babbling post we all tack on a single word, as a One Word Story like thing, but with content around it as to not make it simple spam? Rotku Sat, 13th Dec '03, 9:57am  I like the thinking behind that! I don't know if Tal would though, and I don't fancy dying horribly yet ;) Xei Win Toh Sat, 13th Dec '03, 10:35am My cold is getting worse! :help:  Aikanaro Sat, 13th Dec '03, 11:01am Hmm, well it takes out the 'bad' parts of the One Word Story (such as having an entire thread devoted to the posting of one word), and still follows the spirit of the Random Babble. Still, let us see if Tal has anything to say on the matter. I like my life as well  Manus Sat, 13th Dec '03, 12:44pm KA-CHING! Gem upgraded. Faragon Sat, 13th Dec '03, 1:38pm Had a party last night, was good fun! :) For the first time in some I was able to sleep late this morning. (slight hangover ;) ) Gotta love finally once again getting out of bed at 10:30 and being able to play a bit of BG2:ToB to wake up :) Ah the good old times when I didn't have that much obligations and could do as I pleased. Nostalgia is fun until you realize how you've had to abandon all that. Study till six. :( Then more ToB. :thumb: Aikanaro Sat, 13th Dec '03, 1:46pm Hmm, anyone been to San Francisco? If so, where are most of the skyscrapers located? chevalier Sat, 13th Dec '03, 3:36pm My cold is getting worse!Sorry to hear so. Can't decide on a game to play, there's nothing good on TV, and I can't do much else. Malovae Sat, 13th Dec '03, 6:23pm Aaaarrgh, Broken Sword - TSD is doing my head in. I'm stuck again! Well I'm off to work now - yay  I miss my gems :( 8people Sat, 13th Dec '03, 7:54pm Why is Sarevok-s' title 1337? :hmm: I think I got it right... Painting warhammer. Painting two Dark riders, one is one of the Command so he's gonna have a cool spear, they take damn ages to dry on the models but seconds on the tile I put them on. Wish people would phone at more convenient times :p Dragonfly Sat, 13th Dec '03, 8:03pm I love days that I don't have to work. Xei Win Toh Sat, 13th Dec '03, 9:02pm Ice cream and Diet Coke works wonders on the cold! @8People: 1337=leet=elite. 8people Sat, 13th Dec '03, 9:46pm rofl! I always thought it was random roman numerals! He's clever, I'll give him that! Baezlebub Sun, 14th Dec '03, 4:05am It's been about 2 weeks since I last shaved. I'm at that stage where I could go a week without needing to (I'm not as hairy as I tell everyone), but now I look like one of those try hard teenagers who attempt to grow a moustache to look older. It's not true! I'm just too lazy... Xei Win Toh Sun, 14th Dec '03, 10:45am Whee! I'm feeling (slightly) better today! *sneeze* Aikanaro Sun, 14th Dec '03, 11:07am Yay! Going to Queen Street tomorrow. May actually get the freaking stuff that I want. Blackhawk Sun, 14th Dec '03, 11:26am Try to make this a one-word story and die. Horribly.A one word story? I guess there is quite a story behind the "one word story". :) Aikanaro Sun, 14th Dec '03, 11:33am A story? Nay, 'tis an epic. A saga. Manus Sun, 14th Dec '03, 11:53am Well, I was inspired by Laches political post regarding a certain candidate Dean, yet thought this was not appropriate for his thread, yet still needed to be said- and what better place? I have stopped voting and filing tax-returns (both are apparrently illegal acts). No federal election yet, but I'm sure some local ones have slipped by. A good six months since the last financial year, no word so far. So, how long do you think it'll take before they bust me down and I can go out in a blaze of gunfire? Edit: Thought I better clarify this- tax returns are when the government pays me money. Yea, it's as crazy as it sounds. But since I don't actually pay taxes I fail to see the point. That's right, I'm hard. Real hard  ;) [ December 14, 2003, 12:03: Message edited by: Manus ] Malovae Sun, 14th Dec '03, 12:48pm Ahhhh, what a lovely Sunday morning :) Feel sleepy but have to wake up because I have to pretend to be happy at a kids party at work. boooo. I'm going to sit and play Icewind Dale 2 all night though. Yay, 11 days to christmas!!!!! :D :) :D Ohhhh, I want tax returns :) Manus Sun, 14th Dec '03, 1:16pm Yea, well, they're a scam. You have to pay a fee to the bank to process the cheque (our government doesn't want anyone to earn anything you're not screwed over on at least four times), plus the bank takes a week to do so (in case the federal reserve runs out of money  - of course, this waiting period can be waved, if you pay another fee. Kind of defeats the purpose). Then this new money you've earned all of a sudden counts towards your taxable income (as if that money hadn't allready been taxed like five times- every time it changes hands, even when you're being nice and giving the government more than they deserve, they hit you. Let alone the first time you yourself earnt it). Then the next guy you pay that money to adds it to his taxable income, and so on and so forth. I don't like things any more. If it is a thing, chances are I won't like it. Edit: By the way, I don't deal with banks anymore either. :) chevalier Sun, 14th Dec '03, 3:01pm Heh, not very coherent today. Hit my head against the door so strongly that I look like Captain Sparrow now. Damn, can't even think straight too much. Everything seems so complex... Loerand Sun, 14th Dec '03, 6:40pm My back is hurting, as well as the rest of my body... :( Baldrak Sun, 14th Dec '03, 6:43pm Is it just me or does the bearded Saddam Hussein look like Karl Marx? Malovae Sun, 14th Dec '03, 7:52pm Magicians rock! 8people Sun, 14th Dec '03, 8:01pm my dad's a magician  just let my mother watch TTT on her work laptop. her boyfriend talked all the way through though. it was rather annoying. Malovae Sun, 14th Dec '03, 8:08pm Then your dad rocks too ;) 8people Sun, 14th Dec '03, 8:11pm My dad, and my french teacher do NOT rock :nono: I can suss out most of the tricks and perform them better than them most times. And did shows in school assemblies. so I don't really see how they rock. Baldrak Sun, 14th Dec '03, 8:20pm Only rocks truly rock! Malovae Sun, 14th Dec '03, 8:24pm No, no, no, - Magicians = cool - Your Dad = magician - Your French teacher = magician - Your Dad and French teacher = cool Its like a perfect balance of mathmatical harmony (sorry for the matrix quote) Well, I'm off to the pics - work was crappy but who cares?? Oh, and I applied for ALFA today, hopefully I get in this time. :D Xei Win Toh Sun, 14th Dec '03, 9:42pm This is merely to increase my posts. Or not. Thinking of starting to play NWN again, if I find a decent singleplayer module. Tips, anyone? ;) chevalier Sun, 14th Dec '03, 9:44pm Taking dancing classes with fresh head injury is quite... special. And a few days visiting my relatives. Maybe I get a bite from the ham... :D Is Wizardly 8 any good, when compared to BG2? :hmm: Malovae Mon, 15th Dec '03, 12:04am It was rubbish, stupid ships :nolike: chevalier Mon, 15th Dec '03, 1:41am Amidst the shades of sombre night, the brave noble paladin turned his computer off. Beren Mon, 15th Dec '03, 2:32am Wizardry 8 is a pretty good game, but can't hold a candle to BG2. Can also get pretty repetitive. If anybody wants to get into law as a career, my advice, don't get into family law. As part of my clerkship, I have to act as family law duty counsel one week out of three. Watching obnoxious family lawyers in action is nothing short of absolutely sickening. And that's just me. In a way, watching the Queen's Bench Justices shred the lawyers apart is pretty fun. Manus Mon, 15th Dec '03, 2:33am Wizardry 8 is a very good game, but alltogether different to BG2, they are a completely different style and cannot be compared. I say go and play it anyway, especially if you like that sort of thing. It is nostalgia reborn :) Edit: I wrote this before I saw Beren's new post, so I'm not trying to rebutt him in any way. Let's not turn this into a Playground thread unto itself. Baezlebub Mon, 15th Dec '03, 3:28am Rotku, let me get this straight. You are 15. You can now drive legally, and have only 1 year before you can drink legally. LoTR was filmed in your country, has some of the most beautiful scenery... New Zealand seems like the place to be. Too bad its inhabited by Kiwis, otherwise I might go there :shake: . Aldazar Mon, 15th Dec '03, 5:58am @Beren - man, I could have told you to steer clear of Family Law if you'd asked but does anybody ask me? No! ;) But seriously, it does suck the big one. Particularly being involved as a client. But on to more normal topics, I decided yesterday that I want to be a cloud. Now THAT'S the way to live. Baezlebub Mon, 15th Dec '03, 6:04am What? High as a kite and made up of water? Sounds like a metaphor to me Aldazar... teekc Mon, 15th Dec '03, 6:44am i have this translation dictionary installed. If my cursor remained long enough, it will show the meaning of the word in chinese. "Whatnot" is noun for a rack to place antiques. Aldazar Mon, 15th Dec '03, 6:46am No Baezlebub, not high as a kite, higher!!! way above the mortal concerns of....um...what was I saying? Rotku Mon, 15th Dec '03, 7:06am 1 year untill I can legally drink?! What are you talking about Baezlebub? It's only 20 days :p Aikanaro Mon, 15th Dec '03, 12:37pm Die Beagleboobies, DIE! (read that as - Skinnys did NOT have the CDs I wanted, and the directions you gave me really sucked in an extremely misleading way) Baezlebub Mon, 15th Dec '03, 1:14pm Really sucked in a misleading way? How so? Its virtually next door to Comics Etc. and down a set of steps. It really is nearly invisible too, if you don't know what to look for. I am surprised that they didn't have your CD. They usually stock that sort of stuff. Did you ask the counter? Aikanaro Mon, 15th Dec '03, 1:26pm Hmm, maybe we're talking about different comic book shops? :p Daily Planet is a few hundred metres away from Skinnys. Anyhow, I'm ordering it in, but still, I'm thinking that you should die ;) Ofelix Mon, 15th Dec '03, 2:18pm Twenty days? gee I feel really young, Man I have the same age as ye but I have to wait 2 years and 8 months before drinking ¨legally¨ but that doesn't mean that I *can't* drink eh? :D Have you ever drank that 55% Alchool french's brevage? I've heard its like paint stripper. JSBB Mon, 15th Dec '03, 7:35pm We used to be able to purchase 100% pure alcohol. I think you'd better stay with 96% :) Wildfire Mon, 15th Dec '03, 10:13pm Sure you can, it's just ethanol. chevalier Mon, 15th Dec '03, 10:18pm 100% alcohol isn't potable simply because it isn't liquid. It's gas. BTW, it's been a year (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=18;t=000460). Wildfire Mon, 15th Dec '03, 10:28pm Actually, all basic alcohols, methanol, ethanol, propanol etc, are liquid at room temperature, with the exception of cyclohexanol. fade Mon, 15th Dec '03, 11:16pm 100% alchohol is liquid. I know because I got to play with it in chemistry class. Was almost 100% ethyol, with a trace of isopropal to make it poisonous. reepnorp Tue, 16th Dec '03, 12:30am Do any of you know who someone named Ping Zang is? Still three hours left ;) Slith Tue, 16th Dec '03, 11:06pm I have finals soon. In math tomorrow, I think. I hate math, and it's stuff that I wasn't paying attention to, I think. And I'm expect to give a semblance of a serious reply, which is nurturing to the needs of others. It makes me feel cold and dark inside. Um. Well, heck. I guess that probably pretty normal for an Icetroll. Don't mind me then. My bad. Also, I'm drinking Czechvar. Brewed and bottled in Ceske Budejovice. I rule. Malovae Wed, 17th Dec '03, 4:55am Urrrrr, too much alcohol!!! I never want to drink again :( The US is right having the drinking age at 21. England is full of morons! Browsing through the horror section I find most of it being mad slasher (as in, guy with big knife kinda slasher), or vampires. When will people realise that vampires are not scary! They are old, boring, tired, outdated. Sure, they were very scary once ... in the 12th century maphap. I do, however, have an amusing anecdote to tell... ** Warning, this may seem a bit too naughty, but it is not meant to. The emphasis is on the reaction of my brother, not the act.** A friend of my brothers (known as Jesus) was working late one night. He got home to find he had no keys, and that he room mates were busy inside 'rutting' as he put, so he went instead to a friends house and told everyone the story. Well, my brother was regailing the story, emphasis on the inappropriate use of the said word, to my aunt. Unfortunately, my 9 year old sister overheard, and asked the question "What does 'rutting' mean?" My brother replied after the silence, "having a root." My aunt nearly disowned him on the spot. If this block wasn't in place, I'm sure we'd have a double number of posts in every forum by now. Dragonfly Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 3:57am Phweew! Christmas shopping almost done. Now I'll just have to figure out how I'm going to survive on 1/2 a paycheck for January. Malovae Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 4:00am Know what you mean. My pay cheque was split in two. Some before xmas and the rest later in January - in other words they left me skint, swines Spellbound Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 6:50am At least you HAVE a paycheck. Aikanaro Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 11:24am Ho hum. For some reason I ended up watching Peter Pan today... Jaguar Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 12:08pm @Spellbound Some of us actually work for a living. Might want to try that before complaining about a paycheck. :rolling: @Aikanaro Which Peter Pan? The cartoon, the one with Robin Williams, the musical or the other one? Yerril Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 1:49pm I have returned from the dread land of No Internet Connection. Whilst away, I discovered the secret to existence: Play Knights of the Old Republic. (It is about 1% behind PST on my big list of best games ever) chevalier Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 1:56pm After two coffees it's time for a breakfast, isn't it? Aikanaro Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 2:18pm The one on at the cinema currently. Rallymama Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 2:22pm Pardon me for being untimely, but Chev's Latin post on the previous page is the full text of the Christmas carol, "O Come, All Ye Faithful." Iago Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 2:55pm The Germans have something like a monopoly on international christmas charols. My favourite is "oh christmas tree". Ofelix Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 3:10pm I've just slept for 13 hours sweet sweet holyday! But unfortunately I bitted my lips so I have blood in my mouth... :( Malovae Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 5:18pm Haha, I have beaten you with my 16 hour slumber :p I think I'm turning into a bear. I don't have to go to work for a week now! Thank the heavens. reepnorp Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 5:38pm Woah, LXG was an awesome movie! I don't see why barely anyone liked it. chevalier Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 6:16pm Listen to your (Rally)Mamma and you'll go far :shake: ;) :thumb: Considering there's no one but me in this very room, I might as well start singing that carol. Don't worry, the pond protects you :D Well, some of you ;) Spellbound Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 6:34pm Jaguar -- I lost my job recently. There's nothing particularly funny about that. Might want to try thinking before you speak. Hacken Slash Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 7:12pm @Spellbound Don't know what the particulars of your job loss were, but sorry to hear it. Have you ever noticed that employers always wait until the Holiday season to either give people bonuses or lay them off? Faragon Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 7:14pm Ugh, today I was visited by the Hangover from Hell. Credit to my neighbours ruining a perfectly good hangover by drilling holes in the sidewall of my bedroom for about 45 minutes. :bang: And oh yeah: "Theres only one lord of the ping, and he does not share bandwith!" Rallymama Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 9:18pm Lord Keldin DePaara sends his greetings to all and sundry who frequent this hallowed Place! He'd've delivered them himself if it weren't for limited computer time. reepnorp Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 9:48pm Wow, I haven't heard the words San Andreas fault in so long, then stupid MSN had to say it! So how's the 'quake, California? Kitiara Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 9:55pm Did I mention life is good when you have no work and lots of money? :rolling: :spin: :xx: :hippy: chevalier Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 10:12pm What a nice beer. Desperados. It says 5.7%, but it's with Tequila. Mhmmm... what a fragrant taste! And a... how you say... citrus tone? Ofelix Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 11:11pm I will soon play a Dungeon and Dragon game, with friend yay! Note to myslef: How come I could play D&D without friend? Blood has stop spitting in my mouths, For the King, for the montains, for the valley where dragon fly! Blackthorne TA Mon, 22nd Dec '03, 11:54pm Quake? I didn't feel a thing, but I think I was in my car at the time... ejsmith Tue, 23rd Dec '03, 2:02am I thought about you when I heard about the quake this morning, TBA. Not so much "Gawd I hope he's trapped", but more along the lines of "I wonder how he faired." Anyways, it was like, 20C here today. I've heard people talking about 28C down in Texas. These warm winters are crazy. It'll snow at 3am Christmas morning, and put down about 1 inch of snow, then melt on the 26th. Whatever. |
