I am currently considering purchasing one or more Kyocera Mita laser printers for my office. The brand is relatively new to Canada but I gather they are well established in the European and Australian markets.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone here who has used a Kyocera Mita printer can give me his/her impression of how good/bad they are.

Up until recently we had 3 Oki LED printeres in the office. One died, and we replaced it with a Kyocera laser (an FS1010 or something similar, I think). I'm quite impressed with it. It's a bit quicker than the Oki was (although a bit slower than most other laser printers). The page quality is very good. If I remember correctly, it provides the lowest cost-per-page of any of the printers in its class. The drum only needs to be replaced something like every 100,000 copies, so it's really only the toner you will have to replace (unless your office does extremely high volumes of printing).

I've been thinking of buying a laser printer for home for a while now, and the strongest candidate is a Kyocera (mostly because the cost-per-page is down around 1.1 cents). The model I'm looking at is only around $500 AUD, too, which is nice.

We run reasonably thick card through the printer, too, and it copes much better with it than the Okis did. Oh, and we haven't had a single jam in several months. (The Oki it replaced jammed MANY times per day just on normal paper, and I think it finally met its death during a "rougher than normal because the operator is frustrated" unjamming session).
