Presumably you mean most popular current rock group, as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin would have blown away any of your bands. Also, what's the demographic? Hate to break it to you, but there are more fogies like me around who like older rock groups than there are kids who like the ones you listed. (That being said, I'm partial to Linkin Park, Foo Fighters and Metallica, I just think the Beatles or the Stones are still more "popular" even now because there are more baby boomers and others that still like them.)

Well at the time I couldn't think of any others but I also like the beetles, never heard the rolling stones and I like U2 a lot as well. as for popularity there been compared with each other.

But one of the options is "other" for other groups I missed I assume that was what you chose DMC :)

Ahhh, how I fondly recall my teenage angst-filled years when I wore my hair down, and listened to the 'before they sold out' Metallica, Kiss, AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, the Stones, Led Zeppelin, and others besides. Sadly, this poll doesn't accommodate my lingering attachment to this part of my youth.

I voted for other, for Queen is, has always been, and will forever be my favorite rock band.

But if I have to choose a rock band from nowadays, I would vote for The Darkness. I heard a few of their songs, and they sound pretty good. (Also considering that U2, even though they still make songs, isn't a rock band from 'nowadays')

Out of those; Linkin Park is probably the most popular, but all of those bands (with the exception of the FooFighters maybe) have a large amount of people who detest them.

I believe that you have listed way too few bands, and am voting other. Specifically - Evanescence is probably the most popular rock band at the moment, though that probably won't last long.

I gotta go with Mesmero on this one, Queen rules supreme.

But then, if we're going for the names of bands which pretty much everyone has heard of, regardless of whether they like them or not (if that is how you define popular), they would be the old bands such as Queen, ACDC ect.

I still say U2, because I think they are still nowadays, their new album will come out soon.

With most *popular*, I'd probably say Red Hot Chili Peppers. Most of my friends like them. Even my parents do. :D

You needed to define it a bit better. Did you mean "favourite" or "popular"? And if "popular", do you mean ever, or currently? and with whom? As dmc says, there are lots of ways this could go.

With the choices listed id go metallica(old) as my favorite.

Most popular out of those is probably Linkin Park.

I still Miss Rage Against the Machine...A live cd of their last concert came out recently, and it reminded of how much raw power they had in their music! Chris Cornell and Audioslave is good - but they don't come close to the original RATM! Kinda like Van Halen isn't the same without David Lee Roth.

Well I never expected LB to be a serious contender. I had to choose between Linkin Park and LB yesterday as a cd so the choice was simple enough, and also I used to be a fan of LB what the F* was I thinking?

metallica are the most popular out of that list, no contest whatsoever, thats who i voted for, even though i hate em.

but off that chart, i'd go with somebody like zeppelin.

I also love the White Stripes currently, and I also understand that they're very popular at the moment.

But I wonder how that popularity is going to be affected by Jack White getting charged with aggravated assault.

Hell, that'd probably give them a boost in popularity, unless of course he's going to jail over it. Things like that tend to draw attention.

Well, Metallica is misspelt in the poll, so I think this doesn't really hold much weight in any real context. So, without further adue...

Gah, what about aerosmith, zz top, the doors, the greatful dead, blue oyster cult, bruce springsteen(old), Credence Clearwater Revival, the kinks, bad company, blondie, boston, pink floyd, tom petty, and joan jett. I could probably keep going but I think that this is enough. :p

I can think of a lot of bands that would cream any of those in the poll.

I went for other as well. I detest every band on that list and so do all of my friends.
