View Full Version : Think I would be killed for doing this?
Bateluer Wed, 15th May '02, 11:26pm When I go see Ep2, I plan to sit near the aisle and corridor out of the theater. About 20 or so mins into the movie, I will stand and shout as loudly as possible "Star Wars Sucks!". I will then proceed to run out of the theater as fast as I can.
Extremist Wed, 15th May '02, 11:37pm You should be rewarded by 7 days at Hawaii!
If only I could do that in front of Big B... ;)
Blackthorne TA Thu, 16th May '02, 12:20am Why would you pay $8.50 (or whatever) for 20 minutes of a movie followed by a beating? ;) Must be a masochist...
Wildfire Thu, 16th May '02, 12:21am Now what would be the point in that? Not only would it be a waste of your own money, but you'd spoil the movies for the others. :toofar:

the god Thu, 16th May '02, 12:24am if star wars fans outside of the cinema hear you, you'll be lynched... and then either cut in half and/or thrown down into a seemingly-endless pit (oh, the irony)!
btw, one day to go!
Vukodlak Thu, 16th May '02, 12:52am 20 hours and 50 minutes as of now...
DragonRider SkyWard Thu, 16th May '02, 1:02am Power to you but if your in my theater I'll be on you so fast you'll be like Jar-Jar after Bar-Bar and then puneshed.
Bateluer Thu, 16th May '02, 1:26am BTA - You pay 8.50 for a movie? What country are you in and what currency do you use? Shoot, even at nite the theater here in the US charges 7.75. Before 6pm, its 5.50.
As for the beating, I can run pretty damn fast when the situation calls for it. ;)
Punk Slacker Thu, 16th May '02, 2:25am I think you should do it batty. i'm going to see it tonight at midnight.....
Blackthorne TA Thu, 16th May '02, 2:33am Hehe. Every theater in the US charges $7.75? No, it varies from probably $6.50 to $8.50 depending on what theater you go to. I'm in Los Angeles.

Shadow_Goddess Thu, 16th May '02, 3:07am $7.75? Ontario must be ripping us citizens off...
Do it.
nior Thu, 16th May '02, 4:24am that's a good idea bat. do post your experience with the jedi and sith wanna-bes... in details please. :)
i guess we have one of the cheapest movie rate. $1.75 including popcorn and drinks. :D
Soompta Thu, 16th May '02, 7:38am people might throw their popcorns and drinks at you though
(can be a good thing mmmm . free food )
sorvo Thu, 16th May '02, 9:42am I saw "Spiderman" last night and they were lined up around the building to see "AotC" at midnight! I wish I still cared about something that much:lol:
Bateluer Thu, 16th May '02, 2:49pm We used to have a theater that was a buck for a ticket, but the popcorn was stale and the pop was watered down. They just tore it down to make room for a parking lot :(
Star Theater's have a monopoly in my city. :(
Sapiryl Thu, 16th May '02, 3:01pm Go for it! I almost did the same thing last night when I went to see it for real.
------------------
My review:
Eh.
------------------
Solid concepts, good series of events.
Bad dialogue, Natalie Portman can't act, Jar-Jar Binks, and it's quite a bit more sensual than the other episodes.
Shralp Thu, 16th May '02, 3:04pm It's gonna cost $8.50 for me too.
The happy part is that I get to see it tonight with no standing in line. The internet is a vunderful thing.
Voltric Thu, 16th May '02, 3:08pm Bateluer, I don't see how 8.50 is unusually. The theaters in Boston are around $10 for a night show. You don't really have a choice in price unless you drive for an hour outside the city.
And if you did your silly plan in the theater when my friends and I are seeing the show I hope you get out of the place fast. I'm quick to anger with people of attempt to wreck my movie going experience.
Volar Blackmane Thu, 16th May '02, 6:37pm I hope the next time you're seeing a good movie you've waited for, some moron pops in shouting '<whatever> sucks' and runs out.
Sir Yerril of Morningmist Thu, 16th May '02, 9:51pm
I'd like to see that!
"Careful, Bat, they'll get Jango on ya!"
:borg:
Xaelifer Fri, 17th May '02, 4:41am Hey - you're right! Star Wars DOES suck!
Jack Funk Fri, 17th May '02, 4:50pm On the one hand it would be very funny. On the other, why bother? The true believers wouldn't get it.
Edit:
A beating? Oh no, the guy from the comic book store is going to get me! :p

Gamer Fri, 17th May '02, 11:35pm I woudn't worry too much about the beating. Having thought it over there are two diffrent reactions on your calling.
1. The real fans won't take you serious. If you run away they won't follow you because they would miss the film
2. There are only real fans !! Well, ok some don't like it, but they wouldn't go to see the movie. If someone is disappointed he won't mind your calling so no problems for you.
So all in all: Don't do it! Big B will kill you! You know what Darth Vader used to do? Right! Now think about it.
But if you do it, make sure you wear a STAR-TREK shirt
Findol The Swift Fri, 17th May '02, 11:51pm I was listening to the raido the other day and there were three people on the raido. Two people really liked star wars, the oter not so much. So she started talking about how bad star wars was. They other two guys told her to go to the corner of two busy streets, and be locked up in a C3PO cooler! She was really in the cooler! She was there for 2 hours. I couldn't stop laughing!!! I mean, have any of you seen something like this happen?
Padine the Paladin Thu, 30th May '02, 1:20pm Hey I sometimes do what you do but instead of leaving i quikly switch seat's.
P.S i think that star wars,exept episode one.SUCKS too.
Findol The Swift Thu, 30th May '02, 2:33pm Oh no, a SW hater, and Big B's gone! OH NO! Who will defend SW now?!?!?!?!
Volar Blackmane Thu, 30th May '02, 8:24pm All except episode one suck? Why would anyone need to defend it from such an opinion, it's like saying all star trek except Voyager sucks. What a curious taste...
Sir Dargorn Thu, 30th May '02, 8:28pm Actually most people consider voyager to be the best star trek. Apart from Captain Janeway, She is really pompous and always getting it on with guys, no guy, no matter how old or alien would settle for something as disgusting as her.....
Faerus Stoneslammer Thu, 30th May '02, 10:48pm Have you done it yet? Do you have the guts to do it? Are you willing to get lynched? It'd be hilarious to see.
I only need to pay $4.00 when I go to a movie on Base. Of course, when I go the city, and to the Cineplex Odeon, it's $11.00 to get in!
Errol Thu, 30th May '02, 10:53pm So Padine...you dont Like The Empire Strikes Back!?!?!? :flaming::nono::aaa:
And if you sometimes do this? What films do you do it in... I went to see Bend It Like Beckham in the Uk..and went in Full adidas tracksuit and said "innit" "booyah!" "wickid" all throught he film..it was hilarious!
zaknafein Sat, 1st Jun '02, 5:27am I felt like doing that when I went to see Mission Impossible 2.
And to correct Padine, All of Star Wars rules, except for episode one, which sucks.
Tasohan Sat, 1st Jun '02, 11:29am Well you are right Zaknafein. Episode one is indeed the lamest of the five.
This is my personal top five:
1: Episode IV.
2: Episode VI.
3: Episode II or V
4: Epsiode II or V
5: Episode I
Volar Blackmane Sat, 1st Jun '02, 6:31pm Episode 1 is in fact pretty neat if you fast forward all the bits without lightsabers.
parrotheada1a Sat, 1st Jun '02, 11:14pm I'm just waiting for someone in a Star Wars picture to say John Wayne's best line from 'True Grit'. "Fill your hands you son of a *****!" Matter of fact, the Duke woulda made one hell of a Jedi Commander.
SlimShogun Sat, 1st Jun '02, 11:50pm You're right, Xaelifer. Star wars (since EpVI) does suck!
Bateleur: Do it! Do it! Do it!
Hey--in NYC (where I live), a movie costs $10.00. No joke. It really does.
