View Full Version : Most Hated Actors
LKD Thu, 9th Oct '03, 11:06pm I'm sure this has been done before, but I want to do it again. Here it is:
I love the movie "Titanic". Why? Because Leonardo DIES! Any movie that includes the death of that loser is a good movie to me.
What actors or actresses do YOU hate?
BOC Thu, 9th Oct '03, 11:15pm Silvester Stallone, Steven Seagal and Chuck Norris but I guess that calling them actors is an insult to real actors.
Pac man Thu, 9th Oct '03, 11:53pm Jean Claude van Damme is extremely annoying imo.
Splunge Fri, 10th Oct '03, 12:02am Tom Cruise. Mediocre acting ability, smug, overpaid, overrated.
dmc Fri, 10th Oct '03, 3:04am Keanu Reeves - His acting peak was Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Dragonfly Fri, 10th Oct '03, 6:52am Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest - Jim Carrey. What a dweeb.
Kitrax Fri, 10th Oct '03, 7:34am Hmmm...I don't like Steven Seagal, The chick from the Nanny, and Martin Lawarence is border line on my list. :rolling:
Aikanaro Fri, 10th Oct '03, 8:31am That ... moron Hayden Christianson (or whatever). He butchered Star Wars!
Baldrak Fri, 10th Oct '03, 9:17am I don't hate any actors, because hate is a far to strong emotion to have for someone you only know because you once saw them in a movie.
But there are some actors I loathe:
Jean-Claude, Ahnold, Steven Seagal. There are more, but they don't come to mind at the moment. When I think of more, I will return here...
The Kilted Crusader Fri, 10th Oct '03, 9:24am I can't stand Jim Carrey, that boy needs a slap!
Loerand Fri, 10th Oct '03, 10:47am Steven Seagal, and, especially Burt Reynolds, he looks like a jackass...
rcoutme Fri, 10th Oct '03, 11:13am Harvey Korman...no wait! We're supposed to hate him. That's the point! Oh well. How about Christopher Plummer except in The Sound of Music. Oh wait, same problem, we're supposed to hate him. Sorry, I guess I haven't got the hang of this one...
Foradasthar Fri, 10th Oct '03, 11:30am Oy this is a good one. Hugh Grant. Definitely Hugh Grant. He's the one guy in the world that carries an aura that can reach me through the television screen. I don't know what it is about him but I despise him. His voice, that smug and self-conscious smileboy face of his. That hairstyle. That... something. He's just plain annoying for no one apparent reason. Any movie that has Hugh Grant in it is something I condemn immediately for being complete and utter crap. And I do this with no other movie, game or other such product known to me until this day. There's something strange between me and that guy.
Another is Richard Gere. He's actually a good 'actor' I think, and I admit I've liked some of his movies. But whenver his name is mentioned or his face seen, I get repulsive reactions for some reason.
Offtopic, but what's wrong with Steven Seagal? I admit he's become a loser since getting fat, but his arm-snapping actionmovies are top-notch. I've seen no-one make as realistic combat scenes as this guy (not that they didn't have the skill, just that every other movie is that same hollywood superswatting with moves that could break a wall in half but have no effect on the people there). While as an "actor" actor he might suck, I think as an action star he's top of the line.
Grandalf the Green Sorcerer Fri, 10th Oct '03, 11:45am Well, my top 10 repulsive, annoying, disgusting and most hated actors are
1. Woody Allen
2. Woody Allen
3. Woody Allen
4. Woody Allen
5. Woody Allen
6. Woody Allen
7. Woody Allen
8. Woody Allen
9. Woody Allen
10...and ofcourse Woody ALLEN!
Everysingle movie he's made is bull, and what i've heard of (though I never believe in that public rumour bull shh.)make him even more annoying. That face... ARGH ! :D
But off the topic for Foradasthar.
About Steven Seagal, he's the hollywood superstar doing all that funny thing, IE. he enters a room, he's armed with a knife, and the room is full of baddies armed with ak-47/m-4's etc, k?
So he throws that knife and it does this almost like bomerang move killing everyone in the room, and ending the scene catching the returning knife with his teeth etc. and then offcourse the liners he says.. well, they suck :) IMO.
If you want some real fighting, watch old Chakie Chan or Bruce Lee Movies, They rock my world on fighting movies.
They actually had to slow some scenens in particular Lee movies, since he did the moves too fast :)
sry, :yot: :)
:EDIT:
Correction, Jackie Chan! :)
Watch Drunken Master, that movie is fun and full of cool kung-fu moves :)
Silverwolf86 Fri, 10th Oct '03, 6:11pm Perhaps a bit harsh of me but Hilary Duff. I never liked Britney Spears (Hit Me Baby One More Time??? Yeah I'll show you a hit....) and apparently Hilary Duff wants to be just like Britney. And she also cut ties with Disney (I'm feircely loyal to Disney by the way) all because she wanted 4.5 million dollars for the sequyel to the Lizzy McGuire movie instead of the $4 million Disney was offering.... awww poor baby. *note the sarcasm* Seriously, what was she going to do with the extra $500,000 that she couldn't wait to get it from her show and her 3 cds that Disney helped her to create??? And why does she have to be a mini Britney Spears? Britney is an annoying slut and everyone knows it. Britney should not be someone to idolize and IMO I think Hilary Duff should create her own image. So anyways, I hate Hilary Duff. It's harsh, I know, but oh so true. Disney rocks and she's a brat. And if I hear "So Yesterday" one more time so help me God I'll snap. . .
joacqin Sat, 11th Oct '03, 1:10am Cris Tucker, Cris Rock and Martin Lawrence. Do I have something against black people? Apparently I do cause I cant stand these three guys. They have no talent whatsover their entire act consists of talking alternately screaming loudly, using a lot of obscenities and *****ing about racial issues. Not a second goes by without them reminding you that "Hey, I am a black man, this is how a black man acts!". They cant really be helping the cause to say the least and one would think that an actor would do something else in his career than to scream loudly about how badly treated the black man is in every single movie they make.
Oh, and I dont like Denzel Washington either, stiffer guy is hard to find, stiff and pompous.
Bring back Mr. T!!!
ejsmith Sat, 11th Oct '03, 2:03am PAGAN! PAGAN!
A pox upon ye, Joacqin!!!!
Ruby Rhod was outstanding. Ruby Rhod is greater than you.
Martin was kind of funny a little bit, and I guess people still find him funny. I dunno. Anyways, I don't really care for Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon anymore. I've pretty much wrote off ole' Captain Jack Sparrow, as well. Silvester Stone, John Wayne. There's some other treehuggers in there too, I just can't think of them right now.
There's a lot of actors that I don't really care for, but it's not to the point of dislike; indifference is more the word.
Baldrak Sat, 11th Oct '03, 9:37am I thought at first that Syslevester Stallone would also be on my list, because he 'acted' in some pretty horrific films, but I also remembered some good ones too.
Yesterday I saw Copland and I really liked it and Stallone and his acting too. Same goes for The first Rocky and the first First Blood.
Khelben Sat, 11th Oct '03, 10:12am Leonardo DiCaprio, Leonardo DiCaprio,Leonardo DiCaprio, Leonardo DiCaprioLeonardo DiCaprio, Leonardo DiCaprio,Leonardo DiCaprio, Leonardo DiCaprio,Leonardo DiCaprio, Leonardo DiCaprio,Leonardo DiCaprio, Leonardo DiCaprio...
Reorx Sat, 11th Oct '03, 10:14am himmm of course Leonardo Dicaprio and himm again Leonado Dicaprio
Taza Sat, 11th Oct '03, 11:25am Leonardo DiCaprio
Shell Sat, 11th Oct '03, 11:27am George Clooney. I never understood why people fancied him. He's just old
rcoutme Sat, 11th Oct '03, 1:52pm I think I DO have an 'actor' I really dislike everytime I see him in media. Mr. T. He sucks in everything that I have seen him in.
Gothmog• Sat, 11th Oct '03, 9:02pm Jim Carrey :o
I really dont see why so many people find him funny. He just seems a big prick to me, with all his grimacing and stuff.
Oh, this is a bit :yot: but still...
I've seen evil dead 3 movie... and i cant decide whether it was the real movie, or a complete ******up parody of evil dead. :flaming:
I dont know who's playing, but he's a blockhead for just accepting the role.
Yerril Sat, 11th Oct '03, 9:12pm Agreed, Evil Dead 3 was just a stupid humour cash-in. Now, Evil Dead 2, on the other hand
(collapses laughing at the mere memory)
Rallymama Mon, 13th Oct '03, 5:38pm Bruce Campbell didn't just accept the role of Ash in the "Evil Dead" series - he created it! Read his book, "If Chins Could Kill - Confessions of a B Movie Actor" for the whole story.
There aren't really so many actors that I don't like, but I get tired of some of the typecasting that happens, and some movie genres just aren't my speed. For example, I liked Jim Carrey in "The Truman Show" but don't get me anywhere near "Ace Ventura." Also, I'll watch a Jackie Chan kung fu flick long before Steven Segal or Jean-Claude Van Damme, simply because Jackie Chan can laugh at himself and that makes for a more enjoyable movie, IMO.
Aldazar Wed, 15th Oct '03, 7:19am I agree with Rallymama on Jackie, he rocks because he can laugh at himself and he does his own stunts, even risking getting killed like in Armour of God.
Anyway, back on topic, Leo di Crappyo is awful, I'll add votes as well for Seagal, Van Damme, Norris, and Mark Dacascos who may be good on-screen martial artists but can't act their way out of a wet paper bag.
Jim Carrey's too OTT for me in most of his moveis but he Was good in Truman Show and Once Bitten
Tom Arnold in comedies (eg The Stupids) is too bad to even think about but playing semi-comic in 'non-comedic' films (eg True Lies) is actually quite bearable.
Ahnuld of course, though he makes a great Termintor (probably something to do with his wooden-looking way of walking)
That's all for now but stay tuned if you want
Shell Wed, 15th Oct '03, 3:01pm I can't believe you don't like Jim Carrey! He's an excellent actor and I loved the Ace Ventura movies, though admittedly, the Truman show was crap. Me, Myself and Irene is also good :)
The Kilted Crusader Wed, 15th Oct '03, 7:03pm @Sheel: Sorry, but he is a nob.
Apeman Wed, 15th Oct '03, 8:40pm Actually leonardo di'caprio was pretty good in 'catch me if you can' and the best film Jim Carrey made was "the truman show", Sylvester Stallone was just plain good in "copland"
Can't really think of a actor I hate, maybe dolph lundgren but that's only because he can't act.
Aldazar Thu, 16th Oct '03, 2:58am Yes! Stallone's best movie ever was Copland imo, that's the kind of role he should stick to - something understated without the whole muscle-bound oaf thing happening. He did good waiving his usual sky-high fee and taking only $60,000 for that role. At least, that's what I heard he did.
Oh, and Angelina Jolie suck arse big time
Arabwel Thu, 16th Oct '03, 2:13pm I can't stand Lawrence FIshbourne. Sure, he's a good actor, but something in him just sets me off. I don't like him at all.
*grins*
One word, though... Popcorn.
Voltric Thu, 16th Oct '03, 4:26pm My most hated actor is the anti-man Richard Gere. For some reason Hollywood thinks women like him even though he lacks all the traits that a true man has.
Nocturnal Nomad Thu, 16th Oct '03, 6:17pm Tom Cruise, aaaahhhhh. Don't think I need to explain my choice.
Vin Diesel.
Can't act, can't fight, f*cks up his oneliners...and the list goes on and on.
(it doesn't but I just want to convince you people)
I agree with Foradasthar.
Sure, Steven Seagal can't act. He isn't hired to act. His job description is breaking arms and stuff and doing it casual. And he is pretty good at that. He walks up to a bad guy, evades a hit and hits him back. It's great! Well great...let's just say I've seen a lot worse.
BossBandor Sun, 19th Oct '03, 12:48am Steven seagal definitely!
i mean what nationality is he with his weird accent? does he ever have a different hairstyle or even ponytail? and what kind of movie is it when the main character is supposed to overcome badguys when he's MUCH taller than all of them. I thought action movies were about overcoming the odds with luck, stubborness, and pushing the limits rather than laying back and killing everyone while lifting just a finger
Septic Yogurt Mon, 20th Oct '03, 5:44pm SLIDERS GUY!!! (http://christine.usi-rpg.com/colin.gif)
I hate that f***er... the most annoying actor on the planet, and anybody who liked Mission To Mars needs shooting. Gimli was in sliders though :p .
Oh, and on another (edited) note.... I believe a special mention has to go to Wil Wheaton (http://www.lightspeedfineart.com/photos/wheaton.jpg) for being the greatest "crappy" actor on the planet, Stand By Me was OK.... but Wesley Crusher the Space Nerd...... ROCK ON!!!! :D
Rallymama Mon, 20th Oct '03, 5:46pm Did you ever see the movie "Joe's Apartment?" It redeemed my opinion of this guy quite a bit. ;)
Hacken Slash Mon, 20th Oct '03, 6:55pm Meg Ryan / Michelle Pfeiffer (so much plastic surgery they are no longer able to frown. They must have the same surgeon, because they have been officially declared "twins" by the LA County Recorders Office)
Kevin Costner ("Dances With Wolves" was a fluke...don't believe me? Watch "Robin Hood"...or "Waterworld"...or "The Postman"...)
and go ahead and attack me...Keanu Reeves! This guy would have to stretch to do an Infomercial.
Rallymama Mon, 20th Oct '03, 6:59pm Kevin Costner ("Dances With Wolves" was a fluke...don't believe me? Watch "Robin Hood"...or "Waterworld"...or "The Postman"...)Kevin Costner is just fine as long as he stays within a very narrow range of roles. For example, he does the washed-up athlete REALLY well - I loved him in "Bull Durham" and "Tin Cup." Unfortunately, having him go beyond those limits is like asking William Shatner to act anything WITHOUT overtones of Captain Kirk.
Hacken Slash Mon, 20th Oct '03, 7:06pm That's right!!! I forgot William Shatner! I hear his radio spots for Priceline and decide I don't want to travel afterall.
Eze Mon, 20th Oct '03, 7:21pm I actually don't give a damn, I just don't watch the movies of actors I don't like and watch those movies, what have good actors. Simple as that.
Hacken Slash Mon, 20th Oct '03, 7:31pm @Rallymama: I suppose you have a point about Kevin Costner. I bet he could play a washed up, has-been Actor, too! :D
