Well, I've just seen it for the second time. My thoughts: the good scenes look and feel even better than the first time and the bad scenes (ie romance) I can shrug off with a prolonged giggle. Overall, it still regains the thrill and I can see myself even buying (gasp) this. (as opposed to TPM which I could only watch once - barely).

I wasnt as excited after the second viewing as I was after the first. That could be lay down to some punks that sat in front of me and made noise and laughed the whole movie. I almost strangled one of them.
But I most say that it felt rather longish for the first half but the second was as good as it gets. The Jedi supremacy still rocks my world.

saw it again yesterday. still really :love: it. however, i'm unable to 'giggle-away' the awful romance script. despite what BigB says, that dialogue is NOT awful because lucas intended it to be that way.

the romance lines are simply terribly written and delivered poorly (not even cheesily!). :grr:

First time, I saw the analog version. Second time was about half a week later when I saw the digital version. There was a considerable difference to the looks of the film, which I think contributed quite much to the fact that I enjoyed the second time much more than the first.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

I'm not spending my money on that garbage twice.

I feel like Lucas has hijacked my childhood.

I did not say that the romance was intentionally made bad. I never said the romance was bad. Please don't take what I say and twist it around; in fact, I happen to like the romance scenes.

I said it was fake, rushed, and one-sided like millions of "romances" today. It is not your old fashioned "they lived happily ever after romance." That doesn't make it a bad romance, just a flawed one. Is a tragedy bad because the main character has flaws? Hell no. If people would take a time out and listen to half of their ridiculous complaints they would see how foolish they sound. If you want fairy tale picture perfect love stories look elsewhere, you're not going to find it in Star Wars.

Apparently I didn't clarify enough that Anakin's flowery lines were written and spoken that way intentionally. Oh well, I guess its shame on Lucas for not copping out on us and re-hashing Han's lines :rolleyes: Heaven forbid he try something different. It's not like its his story, his creation after all. Get a grip people.

Padme even tells him to wake up and come back to the real world. He tells her he can't think rationally. Did you miss this part? Or were you too busy starring at Padme's breasts? :rolleyes: :hahaerr: :smack:

And furthermore, the serious romance scenes (the balcony/first kiss, the fireplace, the meadow picnic, and Padme's vows to Anakin before their execution) don't even make up more than 10 minutes of a two hour and twenty minute movie! This goes out to everyone: I'm not saying you don't have to like the romance, I'm just saying that not liking a movie because you think 10 minutes of it should have been done differently is ridiculous. Being close-minded is one thing. Being close-minded about 10 minutes of footage in two hour and twenty minute film is taking it too far. That is what is unnerving, pathetic, and confusing.

Now to the good stuff:

After 4 viewings (two back to back), I can say I sincerely enjoy this film. It is just as much of a Star Wars film as the others. I wish I could see it on a digital projector. I support Lucas for tyring new things. He may take a lot of heat, but he just picks himself up and keeps on going. Despite some whiney fanboys and jealous critics, he just keeps on a truckin'. Kudos to him for that. And kudos to all the people who worked on AOTC. It is a damn fine Star Wars movie.
