View Full Version : Weird patterns in families
Shell Fri, 26th Dec '03, 4:00pm Do you have any strange patterns in your family?
In ours there are three cousins (one is me), My cousin Thomas was born in November, me in february exactly three months after, and my cousin Kelly exactly three months after that. The odd thing is that they were born to a brother and sisters. Thomas's dad is my mum's brother, and Kelly's mum is my mum's little sister, so they were born in sex and age order..... weird.
Ofelix Fri, 26th Dec '03, 6:41pm Not that weird, but weird nontheless:
My uncle's uncle was born after my uncle, which mean he wasn't even born and was uncle.
BOC Fri, 26th Dec '03, 10:25pm My father's brother was born the date that my father was born (2/12) but 12 years later.
8people Fri, 26th Dec '03, 10:28pm My family doesn't tend to have birthday trends - apart from lots in october and july.
However everyone stands exactly the same way. Don't know if that counts.
chevalier Fri, 26th Dec '03, 10:50pm My mother-side half-brother and sister were both born on Sunday morning. That is 10th September 1989 and 13th October 1991 respectively. One was 6.30 am, the other was 7.30. Don't remember which is which. My mother and I, however, are Spring creatures for she was born on 22th April and I on 20th.
The funny thing with half-siblings is that they have very close blood-relatives who aren't in any way related with you. For example your half-siblings on the mother's side aren't related to your half-siblings on the father's side and you're not related to your mother-side half-siblings' father-side half-siblings. In conreto, I have 2 half-siblings from my mother and 4 (with two different women) from my father for a total of 6. My mother-side half-siblings, however, have 3 half-siblings total from their father only. Three of my father-side half-siblings have 2 half-siblings total from father only and one has 4 half-siblings total from father only. As a result, my mother-side half-siblings' father-side half-sisters bear much semblance to them, who are my siblings after all, but they aren't related with me in any way, neither by blood or whatever. Not even affinity. The same works for my mother-side half-siblings and mine own father-side half-sisters who probably look much like I.
I was born on my father's name day or patron saint day or whatever you call that in English. It's a pretty important day here, almost like birthday, sometimes even more. Mine is on 18th October, which is almost exactly half a year after my birthday, which constitutes a nice balancing factor to my income :shake:
Arahar Sat, 27th Dec '03, 6:58am None of the men in my family ever live past the age of 63. Usually they die unnaturally(car wrecks, war, murder). So I know what year I'll die and can make arrangements in advance :D
Baezlebub Sat, 27th Dec '03, 9:50am My dad is a twin, identical style. My uncle had his third daughter on their birthday. 3 people with birthdays on the same day.
My Mum and her first little brother have birthdays 3 days apart, and there is one year seperating them. That particular time of the year is 9 months after my grandfather's birthday. Hmm...
Kitiara Sat, 27th Dec '03, 7:33pm My mom is five years older then her sister who is five years older then her brother, who is five years older then me, I am five years older then my sister. Then my two oldest were born five years apart. Seems we have a thing for five in my family.
Aldazar Tue, 30th Dec '03, 4:58am I guess the only two trends I see in my family is that myself, my brother, our biological father and our step-father are all Leo's, all born basically within 3 weeks of each other, and all four of us have also been (or are still) estranged from our kids.
If we're counting my girlfriend's family, here and her older sister have the same birthday only 2 years apart.
Baldrak Tue, 30th Dec '03, 9:08am I was born on the same day as two of my aunts. One is exactly 20 years older and the other 25 years...
Dragonfly Tue, 30th Dec '03, 9:58pm Arahar, have you considered locking yourself in a small room with room service on you 63 birthday? You might have to stay there for a year though.
Grey Magistrate Wed, 31st Dec '03, 3:11am None of the men in my family ever live past the age of 63.In our family, we always manage to squeeze fifty years of living into a hundred years of life.
Falstaff Mon, 5th Jan '04, 8:37pm Everyone in my family (both of my parents and my sisters, as well as my mother's family) are all born on the 14th or the 30th of whatever month they are born in... it makes birthdays easy to remember - all you have to do is remember the month!
Arabwel Mon, 5th Jan '04, 9:43pm My birthday: December 10th... my sister's birthday: February 22nd... My mom's biirthday: April 22nd... my dad's birthday: February 22nd...
I think it's a biit weird if you ask me...
