You are here only 1 hour each day? If I combine all the time spent here, it has to be over 2 hours each day.

Thanks Slappy, but there's not really much anyone can do here except me. Don't worry, we'll find a solution for this.

If the page gets cut off before you have a new place to put it, and people don't know if or where it will reappear, maybe it is a possibillity to get an email notification for all the registered people here.

Or maybe it will be too much work, I really don't know, but I'd love to continue seeing this page

We need Sorcerer's Place!

Why is it still called Sorcerer's Place anyway? Sorc changed his nick to Taluntain, therefore it should be called Taluntain's Place. Or more democratically; sorcerers' place? Just a thought. Maybe a new site will rise from the ashes of this one bearing that name, marking the cooperation between all the sorcerers frequenting the board. If this site goes down that is, which it probably won't anyway. Therefore this post is pretty useless so feel free to not read it.

You should put the warning up front that it's useless to read it...

Anyway, everyone stop whining already. We're not going anywhere, and even if we do (which I'm not saying we will), we'll be back in a matter of days. Even if I can move the rest of the website on the fly, resetting these boards and setting them up anew will take a day or two. But nothing drastic. Just keep checking the front page every day, and if something comes up, you'll know it since we'll post it there.

Two days without Sorcerer's !! and you say it's nothing drastic :rolleyes: Didn't you read the 'Addicted' post?

j/k just in case anyone is not sure. I suppose I might actually have to play a game or something during those two days.

How about we use those few days for revenge on the boards (sorry, can't mention the name). So, we could get there and make thousands of useless spams like they did to us.

Note to Tal: I checked their place and did a search thru BG2 forum for "www.sorcerers.net". They really put links there to this place! Offensive nicks: ShadowUK, Gargoyle, Accord and Hesperex. :mad: :mad:

Anyway, you'll be happy to hear that I already have a couple of offers, but am waiting for another host I've contacted to reply to my inquiry, so I should have a final decision where we go by Monday.

just a quick question from someon who knows nothing of iternet stuff.
If the boards are transfered will we be starting from scratch????
because i will need to save my story on word.

It's probably worth having a back up copy on your own PC anyway. It's something that is worth hangin on to.

Tal, glad to hear that there are some options developing. Fingers crossed and all that.

When I say "resetting these boards and setting them up anew will take a day or two" I of course mean getting the WHOLE thing back up and running. Just starting from scratch would be too easy. ;)

Everything will stay the same as it is now. Everything gets transferred. That's the whole point. You don't need to make backups of anything. We'll take care of that.

And no, everything else but the boards and the news script on the front page should be more or less instantly accessible as soon as it will be uploaded to a new server. Of course, it will take a day or two for the servers accross the world to spot the change in domain and update their cache accordingly, so don't be surprised if you see any funny stuff during the move.
