Tal, Am I the longest 'active' registered member ? (After Syl), if not certainly one of the longest!
I might not look so 'active' but I visit this page every day, without cable internet.
Don't I deserve a better title then apprentice?

Who are the ten longest active members?

Soory, misplaced it.

I moved it to the proper forum for ya Nightal; it's no longer misplaced :)

Hard to say. I could look up the first 10 registered people, but probably less than half of them are active.
I think it'd be easiest if the people who have been with us longest reply to this post and we'll see for ourselves. ;)

As for your title... You're lucky to have apprenticeship at 91 posts. ;)
I've moved the limit for Apprentices to 100 posts a few months ago.

I know i'm not the earliest to come...but i'm no spring chicken either...i think i came when there were about 200 members. I've been here since Late September/early october i think...anyway, what registration number am i Tal?

If u look to the left of the message u will find the date of registration of user, I'd imagine the first 10 would be the ones registered in June, the active ones probably July and August...

However really, I'm not sure of the point of this hierarchy system. When I first came here I didn't even notice the acolyte/apprentice title next to people's nicks until somebody mentioned it in one of the posts. The only thing I don't like about the interface of the boards is the inability to delete your own messages, but I understand the reasons for this. Titlewise who cares? I'd prefer to be Lo Notitle, over whatever that little window says anytime...

If you check a person's profile it tells you the date they came on board. I'm June 28th. I know I'm not the first but close to it, maybe in the first 50. Tal what is my number?

I couldn't find it...But I remember registering sometime in July of 2000...Although I really didn't get that active until after BG2 came out.

Hey! I've got an idea! Let's all ask Tal to put together a list of ALL 1000+ registered users, so we can all see what our numbers are!! He's got nothing else to do right?

Bel - Look at one of you posts/replies. Under your name is your rank, followed by number of posts and finally the month/year you registered (July 2000).

If you want an exact date check your profile:
You see that profile of a head with a question mark next to the date/time of the post? Click on that to see your profile; it says July 7th for you.

ROTF. Don't pick on him BTA, he's only a 12 INT. :D :p

It's a good thing you're here to set him straight. LOL

Well...All righty then. <Belisarius peeks out from behind his shield to see if the coast is clear>

Let me clarify. I got all those, when I registered, time, favorite color, zodiac sign, etc :D...But I was talking about the #x of 1089 registered people on the boards when I meant rank. I thought someone mentioned that they could see it in their profile...I couldn't, so I inquired about it.

<Belisarius staggers to his feet after the onslaught...> :D

Ah. Sorry... The post right before yours talked about checking the profile for the date you registered. Then your post saying you couldn't find it.

I was only a *little* sarcastic going into all the trivialities; no offense was meant :)

I am just so totally offended! LOL!

Not at all BTA! I was just playing around with my response...I do have a slightly sarcastic side to me... ;)

Sorry folks, looking up numbers for you was just an exception because I had really nothing better to do at that moment. A very rare occasion. ;)
Please don't start asking for numbers all over...
You know, the number doesn't matter, it's how you use it that's important. :D

So many numbers, so few free men.... :)

No offence, but the contributions made, both quantity and quality, are surely more important than when you joined? Or are we all equal, but some "numbers" are more equal than others?

Lord Bane
Tue, 27th Feb '01, 9:34pm
I definetly sense a jealous soul here :D

Although you're right of course, oh stout Norseman, some are more equal then others, as in every good democracy :) Oh wait, who ever said this community was a democracy, right Tal ? ;)

Taluntain

In the words of my drow friends...
We shall rule supreme!

Democracy? But tyranny is so much more effective... And that's a proven historical fact.
Of course, it usually only sounds good when people are looking back at 1000+ years of history. Damn. There goes my point.

But the bureaucratic democracy most of us live in today isn't really much better. We still pay just as much taxes as people did 500 years ago. Only the life standard has improved a little and everyone (mostly) has personal freedom.

Anyway, this is a topic for an essay, but if someone wants to continue from here they're welcome. I'm a bit short on time. ;)

Keep my number. I don't want to know it. I'm happy with my multitudes of posts, knowing I outrank a lot with that alone. Giving me a number will knock my ego down a notch, and I know noone around here wants that :D
