Right. Everything is as one question now, which may make it more confusing, however it should work.

For continents other than North America and Europe I just listed the most developed ones. The list for Europe was done from memory in about 3 minutes so don't flame me to crispy if I forgot you. (Note: Former Yugoslav nations except Slovenia are all in one choice.)

Post away!

umm, Sicily is a part of Italy, not a sovereign country, but apart from that, you had sweden, so I'm happy anyway. :)

When people ask, "where are you from?", do you tell them where you were born, your citizenship, your ethnicity or where you live?

I'm thinking listing every European nation except those former Yugoslav ones wasn't quite necessary. :)

D'oh! Missed Belguim... and The Netherlands... oh well I hope no one (except Uytuum) hails from there...

I agree with Sprite, I was born in Spain, I'm American, I've never lived in the US, I grew up in Chile, and right now I live in venezuela.

I haven't voted nor will. You haven't placed my country anywhere as you may see in that mini-sig of mine.

But what about people who are from Former Indian Tribes and other annihilated nations except Tasmanians?
Your not-including these doesn't mean they don't exist or they've never existed. And I assure you, just like those, I do exist too. And you can't wipe out my name with some ignorant word-combos that put the different horns into the same basket.

Extreamist, if that is the case, I wouldn't be able to cast a single vote, but would be required to vote several times; as I am ...

1. part Native American (Cherokee)
2. part French
3. part German
4. part Polish
5. part Irish

You can find Slovenia in central Europe between Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Austria. Perhaps you would find it if you looked a bit harder :p .

Ah we gotta stop saying i'm part this and part that. It's what country you were BORN in no mantter of where you live now.

Do you really think so, Z-Layrex? Mitterand agreed with you- he said no human being really belongs anywhere except 10 miles from the site of his birth. As a person with no sense of nationality at all I'm always fascinated by any rule such as the one you offer that grants me an "origin". France is the only place in the world where the customs officials smile at my passport and welcome me home, but I feel more Canadian now - this is where I own land and that means a lot to me. Fizity, what's your policy on this question?

I had a young friend who was born in Britain but grew up in assorted third world countries as the daughter of missionaries. She found it so upsetting when people asked her where she was from that on one occasion she burst into tears. Because she had an unusual accent, whenever she claimed to be British in response to a question by a Brit she was challenged: "No you aren't, where are you REALLY from?". It really bothered her that no one, anywhere in the world, was ever prepared to view her as anything but an immigrant. I don't mind it the way she does but I do dislike not having an answer when people want to know where I'm "From". But it does give me an instant bond with other immigrants, no matter where they're from. Perhaps "Immigrant" should be considered a nationality all on its own- it's certainly a subculture. :hmm:

Where are the rest of our people? :nolike:  Only 4 votes? :hmm: I alone can name 6 of us right now from my head but I'd give my arm if there aren't at least twice as much here. Come on lets vote people!

It gives me wonders. He couldn't name each and every single country, since there are more than 200 countries or something like that(Have to look in the dictionary, since they put every country's flag in the front and back).

Extremist, poor you, you'll get over it.

Remember the general in Final Fantasy the movie? It's not my country that this general impersonates. Now, I can't remember... What was his final fate?

Alex

Well forgive me for being an idiot, however it was annoying enough entering 50 of em... not to mention the fact there are about 100 or so nations within Africa, Asia, and Pacific alone that combined have less internet connections than we have members, so writting them up would have been a waste of time.

However I did try to get all the European ones, and I did it from memory... how many people of the top of thier heads name all but 4 European Nations? Not many I'd imagine...

Anyway, if it'll make everyone happy, I'll get to work making another poll for the important nations I forgot. Hold on...

[Edit]
Right. Turns out I missed eleven. Oops. I'm dumb.
Anyway, if I missed you, vote here (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=002223)!!
