View Full Version : Bioware is online or is it not

Not having enjoyed any previous products they were involved with, and coming to NWN late in the party, I have limited exposure to their forums. Sometimes when attempting to transfer data for a new page there, the place will literally put my browser to sleep, and it never seems to time out, despite no longer receiving anything (Mozilla). But Bioware's never seemed to show any tendency to go offline & seems to serve such a large user base that it must be spread across a large RAID array, or something equivalent.

This morning, for a couple of hours, the browser WAS timing out. It says Bioware isn't answering anything. Is this symptom local to my ISP (or to the trunk lines used by my ISP) or does it happen at Bioware often?

? ?

P.S. The entire WWW, from my perspective, seemed particularly sluggish most of today. I'm on a dial-up and never see it as being very fast, but today was really slow. I saw some real problems trying to get back in at SP and correct a "not" in my first paragraph of this message that should've been a plain "no". I tried about six times, and every time, never got a complete page from here. Mozilla stalled every time, stopped getting data, but forgot to time out.

That was this morning between nine and eleven.

I blame it on your ISP. I've never had that problem, and it isn't reported enough to be a common issue.

Get DSL or cable. You won't believe how much it diminishes the amount of various connection quirks and slowdowns that are common with dial-up.
