Khelben Sat, 1st Feb '03, 7:45pm  Heh,i'm the first replier, now i'm truly a demi-god  Arabwel Sat, 1st Feb '03, 7:49pm Dang! oh well... I am happy being an Allmighty Authoress... We are mightier than gods. :p My new fantasy world is shaping up nicely. The demonicai got their form settled and I decided that I will have flying sheep :) (The insane OV pseudothingy) Eze Sat, 1st Feb '03, 8:06pm Flying sheep? Isn't it kinda cliche or something? Oh, whatever. I am the THIRD one. YAY. Wanna see 8 Mile. The Eminem movie, ya see. And before all Eminem-haters start flaming, let me say that this movie seems to have a point, unlike some others I have seen. Every moment is a chance to turn it around. Heck, it DOES have point. :) Lazy Bonzo Sat, 1st Feb '03, 8:11pm Hmm i thought flying pigs were the cliche? Arabwel Sat, 1st Feb '03, 8:14pm I want to see it, too! I like Eminem, no matter how much people diss him. I got the inspiratuion on the flying sheep from Warcraft 3... I love that game. I watch one of the girls here at the lace I live in play, and make commebnts and such :) It's fun! (The loony) reepnorp Sat, 1st Feb '03, 8:15pm Woooooh! Random Babbling Post #5 contains all the required nutrients to keep you going all day long! Eze Sat, 1st Feb '03, 8:43pm Yep, it does. But, reepnorp, where your nick originates from? Hehe. Faerus Stoneslammer Sat, 1st Feb '03, 8:54pm Procrastinating!!! Aren't I clever? I wonder how many times CNN's gonna repeat the same thing over and over and over and over.... PS-Eminem sucks!! If he actually some sliver of musical talent I wouldn't say so, but his "songs" (ie annoying stringing together of rude words) sound vaguely like my dog passing wind, so I can't understand why anyone likes him...I'm insulting him, not his fans, so please don't throw rocks and sticks and sharp pointy objects at me... :aaa: :hippy: Arabwel Sat, 1st Feb '03, 8:56pm Except for caffetine, Reepnorp, except for caffeine. Spam, on the other hand.... (It is random, is it not...) Eze Sat, 1st Feb '03, 9:05pm Faerus, I like him because his songs have a point. Unlike, Nelly, craig David, Peeplake, S Club, Spears and other stoopid idiots. Listen to Lose Yourself and Cleaning Out My Closet. It is there. Very faintly, but it is there and I have seen it. I will not explain, because you need to understand it on your own. And I don't throw sharp pointy objects at you. I throw Jaheira at you. Feel VERY SORRY for poor, poor Faerus. Eze unleashes the worst thing of The Baldur's Gate Saga: Jaheira, at Faerus Faerus Stoneslammer Sat, 1st Feb '03, 9:22pm Oh Gods NO! What about songs like "Stan," "The Real Slim Shady" and others like that? Most "musicians" have a few songs that have (somewhat) discernable points, but having a point or a deep meaning doesn't make him/her good, to me at least (this is entirely a matter of opinion though, so neither of us is really right or wrong)...not to mention he picked a pretty stupid name...(might as well have chosen Skittle or Cherry Blasters or something). Faerus tosses Khalid at Eze. Ha! Arabwel Sat, 1st Feb '03, 10:08pm Eze has got a point, the thing about Emionem is that you need to "see the light" in him yourself... it's there. It's there. Picture a demonicai mage, a gorgeous guy with a fluffy tail and perky dog ears, followed by his familiar, a flying sheep... Yes, the world of Zalaa is progressing. (or worsening, as it could be...) Edit: I have a newfound liking to Sauron. Don't ask. Just imagine him fretting over his hair... :p (the person thinking if she should name her sword "Nauriinlistijä" don't ask...) Stefanina Mon, 3rd Feb '03, 5:58am It figures. It's time for the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire, the local one for me, and I am sick. I mean, running a fever, can't breathe, overall disgustingly sick. Arabwel Mon, 3rd Feb '03, 7:47pm NOW I understand all the weird looks I got when I told I like Arthas of Warcraft 3. I finally saw him as human. A blonde PALADIN? *shudder* I like the undead version a lot, lot more. But in the cinematic sequence after the human campaign, when he has Frostmourne... He's cool :) Sheep! My lemonade stand had dance hostesses. And one night at dinner, when i was about ten, I leaned over to my father and said, 'Hey, man, when are we gonna load up on some of that breast milk again?' Not that that's likely to change a lot in your life. ;) :p Shura Sat, 8th Feb '03, 7:17am Happy birthday, Sniper! :) Eze: Elves? Nah, don't really like them. I like the idea of an army of humans, orcs and dwarves rampaging through an elven city, smashing their freaky faces with musket rounds and chopping their skinny limbs with cold, hard steel. Steam tanks and catapaults to shatter their pretty buildings and the total bloody annihilation of a race that's always too ' noble, rare, beautiful, etc etc. Of course, Drizzt USED to be cool, Arilyn Moonblade and Liriel Baenre are cute, but I still think they would look better cold and lifeless with a few hammer and sword wounds. For a really cool elf story, check out the graphic novel Poison Elves. The main character Lusiphur, is one violent and psychopathic elf with awesome lines. The day Terry Pratchett's books start sounding logical and sensible to you is the day your grip on sanity has begun to erode. Great Wizzard!!! :D Arabwel Sat, 8th Feb '03, 9:25am Shura, you play Warcraft 3 much? kicking those hare-eared elves' arses was fun to watch! /me does not play, as she sucks in any game that needs any grasp of strategy, so she just peanut gallerizes And Shura... my whole view on the multiverse is based on things Terry Pratchett has written... :p I need to rwead that Poison Elves thing. Drizzt is dumb. Arilyn is annoying. Elaith is the coolest! (who, me, like bad guys? well, :duh: !) Shura Sat, 8th Feb '03, 9:49am Well, Ara, I'm a LV 7 solo in Kalimdor, using mostly Humans. I'm not a very good player, though I do beat my fair share of opponents. Warcraft 3 is all about practice, reflexes and nerve, so play more, Ara, and you will get better. For any who are confident of their skills, try challenging Arkados Blackmire. He plays Orcs and kicks the ass of almost every opponent he plays against. Bah...too much time on my hands and too little energy to continue writing. I'm staring at my screen now and the words are trickling forth at a snail's pace... :( Eze Sat, 8th Feb '03, 10:02am Good, that we share same wiews on elves. Heh. And Shura, you write VERY good. :D Yeah, like you didn't know that before. Eze goes to reread some of CS' masterpieces Aikanaro Sat, 8th Feb '03, 10:49am Elves are cool, mostly. It just depends how you write about them. If you write about them as the two goody two shoes of the universe then they get boring quick. But very few good writers do that. Amd as for not expressing emotions, think of Fëanor. He chucked a hissy fit at the gods, was jealous, spiteful, arrogent, completly obsessed, ruthless and quite a few other emotions and attitudes. Though elves been smashed to pieces is a nice alturnative to elves saving the day  reepnorp Sat, 8th Feb '03, 4:11pm I want Zelda now! Other people have it, but I don't! I´am sewing myself a new fantasy-style tunic of wine-red velvet. It's cool... :) I hate people who hog the shared 'puter. I want Jenova resurreted! (who, me inasane? Yep!) Gothmog• Sat, 8th Feb '03, 6:32pm Elves are cool only becouse they protect the nature  I specialized in Elves in Warcraft 3. When you start they're not so strong but once you get a decent skill with them you can rock. Druids of the talon especialy - they can heal they can enchant the entire army(+25% to damage) and they can shapeshift to be AWSOME fighters. Take 5 Druids of the Talon some archers and your heroes and you have all you need for victory. But the best thing in W3 is that its extremly balanced. All races have their strenghts and weakneses. None is THE best. Its all in the choosing. Morgoth Sat, 8th Feb '03, 7:06pm Zelda? someone said Zelda?? Link, he come to town Come to save the Princess Zelda Ganon took her away Now the children don't play But they will when Link saves the day Hallelujah! Now Link, fill up your hearts So you can shoot your sword with power And when you're feeling all down The fairy will come around So you'll be brave, and not a sissy coward Now Link has saved the day Put Ganon in his grave So now Zelda is free And now our hero shall be Link! And that's without taking the Human army into account. I would say a bunch of Huntresses in front of a lot of Dryads make a more formidable army for Night Elf by far. Polymorph rocks. But then again, it's a decadent, arrogant High Elf Sorceress who does not give a rat's arse about nature that casts it, unlike the tree hugging Night Elves. Bring on the gunpowder, swords and the unnatural magic, baby! That's why I love Humans, second in destructiveness only to the Undead! Hmmm...didn't want to start a WC3 debate so I'll go back to my main point. Kill the pointy eared elven wimps!! Eze Sun, 9th Feb '03, 9:47am Eze takes out Elf-Destroyer 3000 and blasts elves to PIECES. Proceeds to giggle insanely. But you can kill your movie version of Elrond, no one will mind Elios Sun, 9th Feb '03, 11:47am This story happened about a month ago in a little town in Louisiana, and while it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's real. Read to the end. This guy was on the side of the road hitch hiking on a very dark night in the middle of a storm. The night passed slowly and no cars went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly he saw a car slowly looming, ghostlike, out of the gloom. It slowly crept toward him and stopped. Reflexively, the guy got into the car and closed the door, then realized that there was nobody behind the wheel. The car slowly started moving again. The guy was terrified, too scared to think of jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car was slowly approaching a sharp curve. The guy started to pray, begging for his life; he was sure the ghost car would go off the rod and he would plunge to his death, when just before the curve, a hand appeared thru the window and turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend. Paralyzed with terror, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they reached a curve. Finally, the guy gathered his wits and leaped from the car and ran to the nearest town. Wet and in shock, he went into a bar and voice quavering, ordered two shots of tequila, and told everybody about his horrible, supernatural experience. A silence enveloped everybody when they realized the guy was apparently sane and not drunk. About half an hour later two guys walked into the same bar. One says to the other, "Look Boudreaux, that's dat idiot that rode in our car when we was pushin it in the rain." Eze Sun, 9th Feb '03, 12:19pm Spooky. Ara, that's good. I have no competition on SP. Tarol'azh, a.k.a.Tobias Mon, 10th Feb '03, 7:20pm My friend Brian and I are thinking of different hazardous and potentially lethal formulas for our Earth Science assignment. Here's the one I came up with in about 1 minute (I just forgot to put the elements in the right order): (S6K5)2H2O(Mn5As)3 Elements are in bold italics. If we could actually create this formula, liquidize it, and test it on a subject, the effect would basically be: poisoned, engulfed in flames, and finally, explosion! BWAHAHAHAHAAA! ================================================== The Washington Post readers were asked to tell Generation-Xers how much harder they had it in the old days: SECOND RUNNER-UP In my day, we couldn't afford shoes, so we went barefoot. In the winter we had to wrap our feet with barbed wire for traction. FIRST RUNNER-UP In my day, we didn't have MTV or in-line skates, or any of that stuff. No, it was 45s and regular old metal-wheeled skates, and the 45s always skipped, so to get them to play right you'd weigh the needle down with something like quarters, which we never had because our allowances were way too small, so we'd use our skate keys instead and end up forgetting they were taped to the record player arm so that we couldn't adjust our skates, which didn't really matter because those crummy metal wheels would kill you if you hit a pebble anyway, and in those days roads had real pebbles on them, not like today. AND THE WINNER OF THE VELOUR BICENTENNIAL POSTER In my day, we didn't have no rocks. We had to go down to the creek and wash our clothes by beating them with our heads. HONORABLE MENTIONS In my day, we didn't have dogs or cats. All I had was Silver Beauty, my beloved paper clip. In my day, attitudes were different. For example, women didn't like sex. At least, that's what they told me. When I was your age, we didn't have fake doggie-doo. We only had the real doggie-doo, and no one thought it was a damn bit funny. Back in the 1970s we didn't have the space shuttle to get all excited about. We had to settle for men walking on the crummy moon. In my day, we didn't have any of those fancy health-food restaraunts. Every day we ate lots of easily recognizable animal parts, along with potatoes drenched in melted fat from those animals. And we're all as healthy as *AAGGKK-GAKK* *Urrrghh* *thud* In my day, we didn't have hand-held calculators. We had to do addition on our fingers. To subtract, we had to have some fingers amputated. In my day, we didn't get that disembodied, slightly ticked-off voice that said "Doors closing." We got on the train, the doors losed, and if your hand was sticking out it scraped along the tunnel wall all the damn way to the Silver Spring station and it was a bloody stump at the end. But the base fare was only a dollar. In my day, we didn't have Strom Thurmond. Oh, wait...yes we did. In my day, we didn't have virtual reality. If a one-eyed razorback barbarian was chasing you with an ax, you just had to hope you could outrun him.   [ February 10, 2003, 19:42: Message edited by: Tarol'azh, a.k.a.Tobias ] Wordplay Mon, 10th Feb '03, 8:05pm Oh, oh, oh! Two days later, his department was dissolved during a hostile takeover, leaving Joxyl jobless and his PC homeless. The floppy disk was found by Josh Doesjack during the liquidation of the company assets. After printing this letter, the disk jammed and destroyed the floppy drive, and the printer self-destructed by strangling itself with the ribbon. Josh tried to throw out the letter, but on the way to the recycling bin, it was intercepted by Jane Dogong, who typed it neatly on her IBM electric typewriter. Three days later, her typewriter was replaced by a word processor that required constant servicing and never worked reliably. Jane's efficiency rating plummeted and her self-esteem was irreversably damaged. One copy of this leter went to John Ackers at IBM. He was caught copying the letter on an office copier and was fired for using office copiers for personal business. In the charred remains of a cabin, the cause of the fire was determined to be due to a laser printer that overheated while printing this letter. This letter may have been around the world by Internet SIX TIMES, causing a wake of destruction and mayhem wherever it stays longer than two minutes. Whatever you do, DO NOT COPY THIS LETTER! Not sure about the validity, but it's hilarious: ---------------- The Compleat Military History of France Gallic Wars - Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian. Hundred Years War - Mostly lost, saved at last by female schizophrenic who inadvertently creates The First Rule of French Warfare: "France's armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchman." Italian Wars - Lost. France becomes the first and only country to ever lose two wars when fighting Italians. Wars of Religion - France goes 0-5-4 against the Huguenots Thirty Years War - France is technically not a participant, but manages to get invaded anyway. Claims a tie on the basis that eventually the other participants started ignoring her. War of Devolution - Tied. Frenchmen take to wearing red flowerpots as chapeaux. The Dutch War - Tied War of the Augsburg League/King William's War/French and Indian War Lost, but claimed as a tie. Three ties in a row induces deluded Francophiles the world over to label the period as the height of French military power. War of the Spanish Succession - Lost. The War also gave the French their first taste of a Marlborough, which they have loved every since. American Revolution - In a move that will become quite familiar to future Americans, France claims a win even though the English colonists saw far more action. This is later known as "de Gaulle Syndrome", and leads to the Second Rule of French Warfare: "France only wins when America does most of the fighting." French Revolution - Won, primarily due the fact that the opponent was also French. The Napoleonic Wars - Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer. The Franco-Prussian War - Lost. Germany first plays the role of drunk Frat boy to France's ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night. World War I - Tied and on the way to losing, France is saved by the United States. Thousands of French women find out what it's like to not only sleep with a winner, but one who doesn't call her "Fraulein." Sadly, widespread use of condoms by American forces forestalls any improvement in the French bloodline. World War II - Lost. Conquered French liberated by the United States and Britain just as they finish learning the Horst Wessel Song. War in Indochina - Lost. French forces plead sickness, take to bed with the Dien Bien Flu. Algerian Rebellion - Lost. Loss marks the first defeat of a western army by a Non-Turkic Muslim force since the Crusades, and produces the First Rule of Muslim Warfare: "We can always beat the French." This rule is identical to the First Rules of the Italians, Russians, Germans, English, Dutch, Spanish, Vietnamese and Esquimaux. War on Terrorism - France, keeping in mind its recent history, surrenders to Germans and Muslims just to be safe. Attempts to surrender to Vietnamese ambassador fail after he takes refuge in a McDonald's. The question for any country silly enough to count on the French should not be "Can we count on the French?", but rather "How long until France collapses?" ------------------- German General and Italian General prior to their forces being overrun: German General to his Aide: "Fetch me my Red Tunic" Italian General: "Why do you change your clithes now?" German General: "I don't want my troops disheartened by the sight of my blood when I'm shot." Italian General: "Fabulous idea !" "Aide-Fetch my brown trousers" ----------- The other day a senior DOD staffer was reportedly asked by a reporter : Q . " What will the effect on the Iraq operation of the French not participating?" A. " Going to war without the French will be like going deer hunting without an accordion." ----------- Another French joke that I'm sure most have heard before: France is selling a bunch of their surplus WWII rifles. They've never been fired and only thrown down once. ------------- Watching "Special Report" on FOX last night, Fred Barnes replied to the comment that in France and Germany there is a lot of anti-American sentiment right now by saying, "Well, in America there's a lot of anti-French and anti-German sentiment right now." Funny thing is that it's the exact same drive as my other usb burner, except it was the IDE version. And I know it's not burned as many disks as the external has. Anyways, I decided to move up to a dvd burner. I keep seeing and hearing good things about that Sony 500A one. And as massive as my "working" disk case is, I figure I could consolidate all my game patches and cheats and drivers onto one massive dvdrw. Called down to the local store today, any they had one left. I guess these things are selling like hotcakes. Rallymama Wed, 19th Feb '03, 2:16am T. aka T., until you posted the story about your sister I thought you were just playing along with Faragon, et. al.! Hope you're doing well. LKD Wed, 19th Feb '03, 3:08am I don't let my students wear headphones during tests -- too easy to burn or tape answers! But during class time when they're reading or doing worksheets, I let them listen as long as no one else around them can hear it. It keeps them quiet. I'm still sick, and I'm also ticked off at life. My Dad is going to Japan in June and offered to take me with him. I checked into it at work, and there's NO WAY to get the time off. So unless he can get a similar price for a July trip, I am hosed. Stupid employer! Erebus Wed, 19th Feb '03, 3:27am You know what are cool pets? Sea Monkeys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! Elios Wed, 19th Feb '03, 5:38am Depaara, just quit, go on the trip and get a new job! lol I know, easier said than done. Sea Monkeys Rock! I also had these things called Triops. Kinda like shrimp. They look kinda like mini horseshoe crabs. Been around since the dinosaurs. Mathetais, I can't believe you like "The Three Amigos" too! I thought I was the only one! One for eachother and all for one, three brave amigos are we! Aikanaro Wed, 19th Feb '03, 7:28am Sea monkeys suck, the only good thing they do is die Taza Wed, 19th Feb '03, 7:55am @Virne There is a problem in there, there are already mods doing that... I guess i could make such mod, but i am not so good at dialogue. And i like making new items. I should make a completely new area to make a great fight, and there is no good editors i have seen. Aikanaro Wed, 19th Feb '03, 10:49am Ach, how does one believe that they can go on the internet without downloading anything. And why are people convinced that downloading is bad? :bang: Shell Wed, 19th Feb '03, 11:27am I'm always embarassed to wear headphones because you don't realise how loud your breathing sounds, so you end up sounding like some old heavy breathing pervert :hahaerr: Arabwel Wed, 19th Feb '03, 11:53am I'll be off for the next few days, seeing as I am going skiing to Ruka :) Yay me! I am SO going to have fun Skiing, good food, partying, fun... See you on Friday, fellas :) (The freak) Oblate Wed, 19th Feb '03, 12:56pm news from our sheep Two days ago a sheep froze to death at night and died on my lap in the morning. :( Yesterday i had to pull out a new lamb because it was too big and the birth made no progress. Lamb and mother are well. Me too. ;) Greetings from Germans in France ejsmith Wed, 19th Feb '03, 1:49pm Oblate, that's sad. And pulling out any animal is tough work; definately cause for a shot of whiskey and some asprin. I've never had to pull out lambs before. I'd imagine you don't have to use a "come-along". One of those nifty devices that are hooked onto a strap, and you "ratchet" back and forth to pull. Pulling horses and calves can be a chore. But a chore made easier with a "come-along". ;) Shell Wed, 19th Feb '03, 2:14pm Just thought I'd share a sick joke with you all. Is anyone good at crosswords? Because NASA are stuck on 7 down Eze Wed, 19th Feb '03, 2:25pm My parents are coming back from Italy. The sweet freedom ends. WAAAHHHH. I hate life. Sorvo Wed, 19th Feb '03, 6:56pm Dammit, the chat rooms down again  I guess it's time to post :) Tarol'azh, a.k.a.Tobias Wed, 19th Feb '03, 7:23pm @Rally: Actually, I was kinda doing both, making it seem like it was Faragon and then leading up to that story of my sister. |
