Okay, nevermind this thread. Formatting and reinstalling win98 went pretty smoothly, except for the damned soundcard. The task at hand is once again downloading all the programs I had installed previously (like mIRC, Messenger, Spybot etc) and return them to their original settings. And installing the new soundcard of course ;)

Since it's more about Faragon's perilous Win98 formatting than anything else, moving to whatnots ...

Since Faragon appeares to have survived :rolleyes: , there's no need for this to remain open.
