Not who is your favorite character, but who do you see yourself as being most like?

I think i'm most like Legolas...

Boromir...Without the FALL, that is.

Well, maybe Eomer then.

ah. but Boromir's entire persona is built so that he is the one who WILL fall!

Gandalf, but of course. Wouldn't suffer any fools. My type of wizard.

I'm a Strider wannabe, but keeping both feet on the floor i have to go for Barliman Butterbur. :D

Fredegar Bolger.

Rather too lazy to go out and save the world, but plenty willing to deal with any problems you bring to my neighborhood. Though not as high strung as he was. :)

Tough call. Probably Thoramier (sp?)

He is tough-minded, loyal, brave and although he had been shadowed by others from the limelight, he held true to his course and prevailed in the end. :holy:

Failing that, I'd be like Sam for the same loyalty & bravery, just on a smaller scale

I have some from more characters: In interests etc a bit like Faramir but I suppuse a bit less charismatic. Also like Legolas, cause of the love of nature elves have. And also a bit of Aragorn, for I also am a Ranger, didn't you know?

Eowyn. A bit less cold than her, but no less willing to fight; I just express it in a different way. I can't think of anybody in LotR who is really as volatile as me, temper-wise, though....

Gimli? :D can't believe they got rid of Glorfindel for the film! grr

I think i am like Saruman, once good and maybe good at the core but does things for his own benefit, and i like to side with the winners

Saruman? Good at the core?!?!?!? He tried to backstab Frodo AFTER he offered him mercy...Interesting concept of good there!

Sam Gamgee - I don't view myself as brave, often find myself in the middle of a bunch of things I hadn't planned, somehow manage to find my way out of that mess smelling okay if not horrid and have just one or two firends who really understand me.

Most likely Mery Brandybuck or Sam.

Azirath

I think I am most like Elrond. Wise, and calm, always in search of knowledge.

Firestorm

Sam; Cause i like food ;) :p
or Smaug j/k

No seriously prolly... damn its hard... hmmmmm... I guess it would be Pippin, also cause i moan and is very negative most of the time, but is friendly and happy deep down.

I'm like Aragorn - Soft, yet hard boiled

Spudsquisher

Soft? Aragorn? never! gentle, but not soft!

One of the unnamed Elves That the book doesnt mention.

Ironbeard
Thu, 25th Oct '01, 11:16pm
Probably Wormtongue - weak, cowardly, can be manipulated or threatened into anything and always expect my friends to bail me out when I'm in over my head. Or maybe Pippin, as I tend to moan/whine a lot.

if an elf is unnamed.. and not mentioned.. are they really in LOTR at all?

Sam no doubt about it. Loyal to the day I die, fond of gardens and cooking. That's me....

Hmm.. I'd probably be Radagast. Never in the center stage :p

Capstone

Gimli, undoubtedly. Solid as a rock, with a pragmatic outlook.

Hey Spudsquisher,

maybe he means all those elves that sit around singing "tra-la-la-lally, its fun to live in the valley" to you after you just got your butt kicked by trolls or nazgul or whatever. :) Though, now that I think about it, that might have been the Hobbit. Probably still there, though. :p

Saruman is a very intersting person, so he is my favourite. And Faramir also a great character.

I would have to say Theoden. And sometimes I can be a Tom Bombadil.

Galadriel all the way!

The Wise, The Grey
Sun, 28th Oct '01, 8:25am
Frodo, as I'm fond of song and written word. And fierce as a dragon in a pinch.

Gimli, as I'm proud, stubborn, and logically grim.

And the White Rider himself (look at the bloody name) Despite the fact that to boast of wisdom is to leave it's path.

If only there were someone with a dry, twisted sense of humor like mine...

Sir Dargorn

Aragorn.
why?

Because i am smart, tough, good with a sword, great tracker, fast runner and i can see in the dark like noones buisness. Most importantly i think though is that am good to the very core and that is what drives me on through life.

Note to Tal: Not even yourself should dare compare to Gandalf. None will ever rival him in greatness!
