Does anyone have any???

They can be on any subject. You know what I mean, phrases that you maybe have seen in books or little philosophies that you have made up your self.

(please edit for me Tal if the spelling is wrong!)

[Lol! Contrary to what some people might lead you to believe, I don't go and spell check people's posts except for the headlines, when necessary. I REALLY don't have that much time. ;)] -Tal

"Intelligence, without the ability to give and recieve affection leads to mental and moral breakdown, to neurosis, and possibly even psychosis. And I say, that the mind absorbed in and involved in itself as a self-centered end, to the exclusion of human relationships, can only lead to violence and pain." (Flowers for Algernon)

I don't know why but I've always liked that quote.

Amid the chaos of day to day living, We should always take the time to smell the roses, for it is ultimately the little things in life that make us truely happy.

Lazarus Long (Robert Heinlein)

The difference between Ignorance and Stupidity is simply stated: An ignorant person simply hasn't obtained the information, whereas a stupid person chooses to ignore the truth.

If you can start the day without caffeine,
if you can get along without pep pills,
if you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
if you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,
if you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,
if you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when, though no fault of yours, something goes wrong,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
if you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him/her,
if you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
if you can conquer tension without medical help,
if you can relax without liquor,
if you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
If you can honestly say that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion, gender preference, or politics,

THEN, you have ALMOST reached the same level of development as your dog.

To think about the future is to despair,
To live in awe of the past is to live there,
To live day to day is to be short-sighted,
So We Die.

And with death comes the question 'what is the meaning of life', surely the meaning of life is that question, should we ever find the answer then what would we do, we would of found the meaning, the reason, there would be nothing left to accomplish, and so we would die, in life.

People seek for a fair world, comlain that 'who said life was fair', well if the world was fair then to live would cease to be of value, because what would we do, go to work, in acomfortable office, but it is only comfortable in comparison of others, in a fair world then they would be all the same, and we could not get paid more, and so would there be a point to promotion, no all u get is more stress, but thats not fair, u get promoted, and someone would be left out, and so there is nothing to gain in doing anything, and so the world shuts down and so we cease to enjoy, to have fun, to live. So be thankful that the world is truly unfair, and that there are always people worse of.!

There is a time for everything,
a season for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to rebuild.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to lose.
time to keep and a time to throw away.
time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak up.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A time to realize the dream's a dream and wake up

Shadow_Goddess
Wed, 22nd Aug '01, 4:55pm
Lokken, yes that is true, but what happens if you want to keep dreaming because we can't get it in real life? I mean I want to have my own computer, renivate my room...I can't do those things...geez.

Lokken
Wed, 22nd Aug '01, 5:04pm
Depends, if there is possibility to make the dream happen, you probably have to make an effort, it's not like coming by itself like most stuff in a dream do.

With waking up. I ment take action to get what you dreamt about or leave it as you could use your time on something more worthwhile - dont let a dream stand in your path to get something different, whatever that might be

and I'm NOT saying you shouldn't have dreams, I'm just saying that it shouldn't pursue you the rest of your life

[EDIT]
Instead of deleting the post, I'll just let it be. I might be saying the same stuff again but here goes.

Sometimes, there's something you want so badly but can't have, and sometimes, it's better to realize that you can't get it and move on.

hope that made more sense

"The law is good, then. The trouble is not with the law but with me, because I am sold into slavery, with sin as my master.

I don't understand myself at all, for I really want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do the very thing I hate. I know perfectly well that what I am doing is wrong, and my bad conscience shows that I agree that the law is good. But I can't help myself, because it is sin inside me that makes me do these evil things.

I know I am rotten through and through so far as my old sinful nature is concerned. No matter which way I turn, I can't make myself do right. I want to, but I can't. When I want to do good, I don't. And when I try not to do wrong, I do it anyway. But if I am doing what I don't want to do, I am not really the one doing it; the sin within me is doing it. It seems to be a fact of life that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.

I love God's law with all my heart. But there is another law at work within me that is at war with my mind. This law wins the fight and makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God's law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin."

That's from a letter written by Paul of Tarsis. Read it carefully. Its is my life's story and the only real wisdom I am clinging to today.
