What movie do you think has the best soundtrack?
My votes go for the Star Wars Series or the Batman series.

Starwars is too old-fashioned. Even though I like many classic musics, the ones used in Starwars have never gotten to me.

Since I hate about all western music, I'd go for the Japanese movie industry side (mainly anime), were it not for the Lord of The Rings. LoTR has my vote, a unanimous victory over all else.

Hmmm... The Crow and Ghost In The Shell, I guess. Both are pretty cool.

The Crow. Without a shadow of a doubt.

Sergio Leone's spagetti westerns has the best movie music ever. I dont know if it would be very good to listen to on its own but in the movies it is awesome.

Lord of the Rings gets my vote, how can I not? I've been listening to it for the past 5 weeks.

Having watched Kiss Of The Dragon for the millionth time last night, i have to say that the track that plays while Jet Li whoops the twins (one little, one big) is one of the best chosen bit of soundtrack ever.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

joacqin, I have "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and one of the others from the trilogy (I think Fistful of Dollars) and they are excellent, but kind of short. They probably would have been better as double albums.

Amelie. Great film and great soundtrack. Trainspotting also has a great soundtrack and the crow isn't bad either

Ok, I know its not a movie, but the theme song for the t.v. show the West Wing is really cool!

Star Wars, no doubt of that. John Williams is a genius.

Babylon 5 soundtrack is great, too. Christopher Franke is totally great as well. The other guy who did some work as well, on Crusade and on two of the B5 movies, I don't like his stuff that much... But he was okay too.

LotR rtocks as well.

The LoTR soundtracks, but these are really the only movie soundtracks I ever bought. ;)

Fellowship has a nice soundtrack. The Time Machine (the 2002 remake, not the 1958 version) also has some excellent stuff.

Conan the Barbarian and Destroyer are excellent. The first Batman is very good. Jurassic Park, Titanic, Hunt for Red October, Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country, Rocketeer, Robin Hood, Willow.

And, believe it or not, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and Aladdin.

I have exactly two movie soundtracks--The Matrix and South Park: the Movie.

Both are amazing. :p

All of you are so wrong! The greatest film soundtrack is...

Transformers: The Movie!

Hmmm... The Crow and Ghost In The Shell, I guess. Both are pretty cool.Don't remember Crow, except that it was something heavy-rockish, right? As for Ghost in the Shell, yes. That song has been in my head as I'd heard it just yesterday for years. Only, there was just that one song in it. Unless you're speaking of the dubbed version. IIRC. :)

EJ, Undiscovered Country. I was just watching that one today. In the begining when the farmer on Nimbus III says, "You're a Vulcan." and Savok answers, "There are more of us than you think my friend."
Then the music starts, I crank up the volume! Man, sends shivers down my spine.

I seem to recall liking Gladiator's background music a lot too. Never really listened to the soundtrack though.

The movie wasn't that good, but the best soundtrack is from Legends of the Fall. Fans of Last of the Mohicans will like this one.

Just a few notes.

Undiscovered Country is Star Trek 6. Not 5. 5 is the one with God, and Spock's brother, and I think Shatner directing it.

I can imagine Last of the Mohicans, Treasure Island, and Gladiator. I may have to check those out.

I know it'll sound pretentious, but my vote goes for "Shine". "Pulp Fiction" and "Oh Brother where Art Thou?" are also way up there.
