Look, I'm reallly sorry I'm repeating myself here but maybe some of you recall that I did ask for help on how to skip movies in Baldur's Gate before because I can't do the Gnoll Stronghold Quest. Unfortunately, I didn't get much useful advice. So do help me out here. The patch doesn't seem to work as the problem seems to be a faulty CD

There's no way to skip movies that I know of. If something's wrong with your game tech support should be able to fix you up, so tell them about that problem you're having.
There's been a lot of problems with scratched (mostly) BG CDs because of the cardboard packaging, so it could be that yours is scrached. If so they should provide you with a new one.

Well, you could just delete the movie files, but then again I really have no idea what would happen, it could be bad, try this at your own risk, I'm not to blame if something happens.

have you tried to reinstall? this has always worked for me when i have had a problem like this.

i had a similar thing happen to me in the Cloakwood Mines. the game kept crashing on the movie of the flooded mines. after several attempts to get past this, i reinstalled and got past the movie with no problems.

all of the sudden i am having problems with IWD as well. weird stuff going on. i am on my 4th time thru with no problems until i reach Dragon's Eye. i enter to find that the Lizard men are invisible, but the red combat circle wese there. i could still attack them and they could attack me, but the game crashed after a while, so i just reinstalled it and everything is fine. well so far anyway.

Wingfoot is right. but did you ever think that maybe you should run scandisk and defragmenter, it always works for me, both once every couple weeks and absolutelyy nothing crashes, and everything loads faster.

If you delete the files, you don't miss anything, coz there all just films of the location you enter.

BTW, where is that 'Tavern' movie triggered?

A while back my game kept crashing out when i attempted to rest in the wilderness. Uninstalling it, backing up the saves, deleting the entire BG folder, defragging the drive then putting everything back on worked for me. It might help you out too, but I'm not sure if it's the same sort of problem.
