The kid who played Kevin alone etc wasn't 18 when getting married as far as I know. In Edinburgh there's some special place when 14 is required only (from both). Normally the guy must not be less than 18, more lenient they are in case of the girl - 16 if under 'special circumstances'. Jews can earlier: 12 she/13 he, muslims something like that too. But that's religious only (RC canon law says 14 as far as I remember). Laws may be different.

Yes, it's 18 in the states, though you can get married earlier with a parental consent. You can't even get a tattoo with parental consent, but you can get married! I guess they figure that body art is still more permanent.
