Not bad...But since I'm from the Philly region - Gotta go with scrapple! :D It's fantastic!

Don't flame me with the ingredients...I know, I don't care, I like it anyway. :D

Bah. You should see the canned stuff our dog loves.
On the other hand, maybe you shouldn't. It'd be safer :p

The only real way to eat spam is to mix it in with Kraft Dinner (boilled with the noodles), otherwise it is simple vile stuff. :D

I beg pardon for this uninformed post, but what are spam and scrapple exactly???
( It rather sounds like someting the cat wouldn't touch!! ;) )

I pretty much described it above: Ground compressed mystery meat with coagulated goo.

Spam tends to be (IMO) a bit more gastronomically friendly since you know where SPiced hAM comes from (pig leg muscles). sCRAPple on the other hand can be made from just about anything that's left over from the pig once you've taken all the good stuff away :)

Yes, it's true, Sir Bel really has no taste buds whatsoever. I agree with Darien on this one. Canned me can go straight to...well, we don't need to go there. But anyway. Some interesting trivia. It's Hawaii's favorite food. They consume more spam than any area of the US. Very odd islanders if you ask me. But to each his own.

BTW do you eat this raw??
We have a dish called tartar, which is raw minced beef (best quality) mixed with an egg, mustard, onions salt 'n' pepper, and is eaten with/on bread. (like western sushi). Tastes fine! But I restrain myself since 2 years ago because of the mad cows.

Funny tartar is a mayo based sauce served with grilled or fried fish here :)

Nah spam is a classical canned food nightmare, it's pink in colour has a strange heavy jelly substance and the smell of ... ham? processed meat? spam smells of spam :)

The advertisments suggest it's a universal meat substitue, u could put in sandwiches, fry it and pretend it's a steak, or even yes eat it raw out of the can. I suggest u forget to buy it, if u ever come across it :)

Heh, I wouldn't touch the stuff raw if I were you. Tartar is for grade A prime beef (or tuna. salmon, etc depending on how far you wish to stretch the concept), not the grade E animal parts spam is made of. Definately not the other white meat.
