TFC, a mod for Half-Life. I've been playing it since it was released for HL and it's still better than Counter-Strike - less cheaters, more team players.

Other than that, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. An awesome and very addicting game despite its simplicity. And of course going through Deus Ex for the 5th time.

The Goldneye mod for Halflife! Just like the N64 game. Diablo 2 is really cool, and I just started playing Diablo 1 again too. Dungeon Keeper 2 and Caesar 3 are also awesome games!

I've only been buying/playing the BG/IWD games lately...I'm in school and I work full time, so the opportunities to play are very limited. I got BG2 the day it came out...and I am still in Chapter 2! :(

But from all the posts, I'm really looking forward to the Underdark!!! Hopefully, I'll be there by Christmas or so - once finals are over!

I mostly enjoy RTS games (StarCraft, AoE1&2, TA, WarCraft and the like). Some turn-based stuff like the CIV games and XCOM are also great. I'm not really into FPS but I did like the Wing Commander series.

Voltric - I had a blast with X-Com 1 & 2! Although I never finished X-Com 2 (the underwater one). How was the third one? And that X-Com Interceptor? They didn't seem too exciting, so i never bought them...

I used to play the Wing Commander & Privateer series, they were a lot of fun too! Too bad that movie was horrible! (I actually paid to see it! :( In my defense, I went to see it because they were showing the the Star Wars Ep1 trailer...

Any fan of Tribes?

The third X-COM games, was rather good - if you liked the first one. It was a improved version of the others, not a lot of new stuff but everythings was put together better. I never played the Interceptor one.
I didn't see the WC film - I heard it sucked. But almost anything is OK in the name of Star Wars.

I've never played Tribes 1 or 2. What and how are they?

I've never played any of the Tribes games, but I know that Tribes 4 is in the making.

I love Starcraft, Rogue Spear, TFC, Jedi Knight, and (heh heh) Alice.

Deus Ex rules First Person Shooters. (Haven't played Quake..., Unreal... in ages)
Age of Empires 1 & 2 + add-ons are my favorite Real Time Strategies.
Mame Roms for the quick game when you don't really have time for anything else.
What's everyone waiting on the release of ?
I'm waiting on Dungeon Siege and Never Winter Nights but haven't heard of anything else, really good, coming out.

I'm a fan of an occasional RTS game. I've never developed any love of the 'first person shoot-em up games' that are so popular. Although I tried several of them from Doom to Half-Life. -It's just not for me. Voltric hit the one's that I visit from time to time. Blizzard releases like StarCraft and WarCraft -as well as thier expansions. Also the Microsoft releases Ages of Empires, Ages of Kings and thier expansions.

Not too many other games interest me outside those and of course Role Playing games. I gave up on Ultima some releases back as well as Might and Magic (last release I picked up... no more however). I like what Bioware\InterPlay\Black Isle has done to bring a version of AD&D to the computer format. So I'll stick with them over the next...years?

D'oh!

Okay, I feel stupid.

Tribes 2 is in the making, and Mech 4 is as well. (I looked at the magazine again, and the two ads are on opposite pages. Probably messed with my head. Like I needed any extra help with that.)

Thanks, Wassup.

Starcraft rocks! There's actually a board (at battle.net?) that is actually like an RPG. You have two main characters: fighter, mystic, ranged, or winged. You go out and kill enemies and earn credits. Then when you have enough credits, you can enlist in the help of other main characters or troops.

The trigger usage is incredible, and there's only one bug. You see, you can upgrade your main characters. Under the mystic type, you go from Dark Templar to Archon to High Templar. You have to upgrade to Archon twice in order for it to stay permanent.

I've been playing BG and BG2 all year long. How crazy is that. Last year, when I got my new computer, I was palying Age of Empires and Kingdoms: TA. Tried Quake 2 for a little while, but I just can't get into those types of games anymore since I spent countless hours going back, replaying Doom2 and trying to finish it. Damn stupid ending to that thing after all that time. It pretty much soured me on those first person shoot em ups.

I love Starcraft too...BUT I can't play it anymore because I have cable. Before, I'd play it with a bud of mine over analog lines, we'd just call each other over the phone and our modems would connect.

Anyone know how to play with a Cable or DSL (without using Battle.net)

Syl...

Even if you have cable, why you didnt keep your modem??

I have cable but I kept my old 56k modem for this kind of game. (especially StarCraft).

I dont think that there is another way (battle net) if you dont have a modem.

I may be mistaken, but isn't there an option to use IP addresses directly with those games?
