View Full Version : Roll call!
Rakanishu Sun, 25th Mar '01, 3:15pm Ten hut!
All 3E D&D players announce your presence here.
I want to know just how many play the game and also surf these boards. :)
Lord Bane Sun, 25th Mar '01, 5:55pm /me raises hand
Although it's on a hold now, I suppose we'll be able to start in a couple of months.
Sniper Sun, 25th Mar '01, 11:46pm I play the 2ndE but pray, tell me what the new rules are?
Vandalore Mon, 26th Mar '01, 7:30am I wasn't into D&D back in the 1st edition days, but I had a chance to play 2nd edition before our DM had an opportunity to snag 3rd ed. Ever since he got it, that's all we've been playing.
Voltric Mon, 26th Mar '01, 3:11pm I started with 1E, fell in love with 2E and now have moved on with joy to 3E. Who can't love D&D!
Rakanishu Mon, 26th Mar '01, 5:18pm Arrgh! Only 4? Only four? :o
Seric Exz Mon, 26th Mar '01, 6:19pm Make that 4-and-a-half. I used to play, but then my fellow players discovered the joy of blowing each other to bits (through QuakeIII-like-thingies), and my life as a promising D&D'er was no more...
Sol'Kanar Thu, 29th Mar '01, 5:34am I DM and five people play in my campaigns! It all started when one of them and myself were reading about the new rules in an Inquest magazine. We bought the rules books and got ourselves familiarized with 3E rules and then gathered some fodder. I mean players.
Bateluer Sun, 1st Apr '01, 6:41am Justed started a month or so ago and still learning the ropes.
FenixStrife Sun, 1st Apr '01, 8:28am I used to play but I moved and there are no groups where I am. Im SO pissed off at that. I had just bought the 3e books too :(
The Fat Egg Mon, 2nd Apr '01, 5:02am raises his hand high, and flicks stuff at the teachers desk while she isn't looking
Arkados Blackmire Mon, 2nd Apr '01, 11:37am I DM too!! Shura's in my campaign!! But i have no previous experience with 1st and 2nd ed so im starting to merge some of the Vampire The Masquerade rules and style into it. Too bad 2 of my 3 PCs are going into the army soon (national service, aha). So we won't be playin' in awhile.
Slappy Mon, 2nd Apr '01, 2:32pm I've played a few Warhammer Fantasy campaigns (the medievil stuff not the table top wargame stuff) and I prefered that to what I have seen of the D&D stuff. I've also played in a Shadowrun campaign but thought the rules were far to slow and complex. I've only had very little expereince of actually playing in a D&D setting and that was 2nd edition rules (I think).
As for DMing, I've run loads of different campaigns with various groups using the StarWars WestEndGames rules. This is a great system for newbies as the rules are fairly simple which leads to fast game play with more focus on the actual roleplaying. Also people find it easier to relate to a Starwars setting as they've all seen the films. Though, I must admit, it doesn't lend itself to long term high level character development.
Unfortunaltey, I haven't been able to play for a few years now - there's never enough people around to get a group together.
Frog Tue, 3rd Apr '01, 6:37pm Iam a seasoned D&D player. Not quite advanced as some. But Iam here.
Vile Thu, 5th Apr '01, 6:09pm Hardcore D&D player here. I started with 2nd ed. and as soon as 3rd was out, I switched. I like 3rd much better...
Volar Blackmane Tue, 10th Apr '01, 12:11pm (First post on this forum. *drum roll*)
I play 3rd edition D&D and I like it more than AD&D. I also own/play/have played WFRP, Elric!, Shadowrun, LotFR and of course all computer games discussed on these forums...
Marek Sun, 15th Apr '01, 1:17am play when i get the chance, but it's tough 'cause both computer and "life" AD&D take a lot of time. it's getting harder to get friends to get together and play. the computer is always a push of a button away ...
Enagonios Tue, 17th Apr '01, 6:35am Um... I used to play, after a fashion... We'd draw a made-up map and someone would be the dungeon master then we'd just roll a die everytime to see what happened. It was mostly corny stuff like, I'd ask whether you wanted to pick up a certain sword, then if yes, I'd say it explodes, then we'd have a saving throw (of the die ;) ) to see whether you lived or died, or the classic damsel in distress in a cave, and when you'd go in it was a trap, the cave seals and you fight a sucubus without your party members. mostly made up stuff like that :)
Sniper Fri, 20th Apr '01, 1:17am Voltric! You old fool! Where have you been? I havn't seen you ever since...well...ever since ever! Hah! You old tooth pick! Tell me whats been happening then? Where you been?
Mhalek Sat, 21st Apr '01, 6:37pm I started with first edit 11 yrs. ago and have taken all the new editions in stride as they come. Right now my DM has fallen back on first edit again because it is hard to find modules for 20+ level characters. For example I am currently stuck in Pandemodium searching for the avatar of St. Gwahlier
Reeky thestenchful goblin Tue, 26th Jun '01, 5:56am raises hand half up

Kerric Thu, 28th Jun '01, 6:53pm Raises my hand
I'm the evil psycho sorcerer who loves fire spell, according to Azardu. Ok, I'm crazy and I love fire spells. I'm just chaotic neutral. I've only burned down 2 warehouses and a tavern :D
Azardu Fri, 29th Jun '01, 1:06am *raises hand*
Kerric: You might wanna add that all the burning was in-game and not for real :p
Capstone Mon, 2nd Jul '01, 4:34pm Played some 2E... waiting for a chance to play 3E but life is busy right now and RP'ers scarce in my vicinity.
Relic Wed, 11th Jul '01, 7:34pm I've been playing both D&D and AD&D since the early 80s, when I was just a kid, but I stuck with 2e forever. In fact, I am only now just getting into 3e, mainly because of all the good things I've read on the boards, and because of NWN. Even with all the problems with 2e, I got used to it.
kemanmaldea Sat, 14th Jul '01, 2:24am I am collecting the rule books for 3E and will begin to play as soon as I get the Monster Manuel and have the time to get my friends together withe me as the DM.
Relic Thu, 19th Jul '01, 1:20am Just got the rulebooks for 3e, the Players Handbook, DMs guide, and the Monster Manual, so you know what I'm doing this weekend. What was that one post about not having a life?

kemanmaldea Thu, 19th Jul '01, 2:32pm Still need to get the Monster Manuel befor I can STart DMing. Will tell when that happens.
Grigger Mon, 23rd Jul '01, 12:54am We were running quite smothly on 3rd ed, till the DM picked up the Faerun background. He's busy trying to decide if our characters are best updated or starting with new ones from scratch
kemanmaldea Mon, 23rd Jul '01, 3:05am If you can look at the book yoursellf and help him decide. you may find that starting over will let you thak some new abilitys that you couldn't otherwise. Wouldent know personally I dont have the FR book
Elijah Mon, 23rd Jul '01, 2:48pm I'm trying the 3E right now, but I think I prefer the second edition. But, with me not being a very active player(due to friends moving back and forth), I don't think I've been able to really test 3E that much.
Relic Mon, 23rd Jul '01, 8:07pm i've read through most of the 3ed PH, and I like it. It will take a little while to purge the 2ed out of me, though. That stuff is like an addiction. So far, I like what I've seen in the PH, this week I'm working on the DMG and the MM, should be interesting.
