If someone has one handy, could you look to see if there is somewhere that a player can purchase animals other than mounts/farm types?

im curious to see if wolves can be bought from the list of items in the phb and if so, how much do they cost?

Wolves are not listed as an item you can buy but that never stopped a DM or player before. I would say a wolf would be somewhere around a war dog thus I'd say you might want to charge 20g or so. I guess you need to answer the question is the animal trained? What can it do? I can get the stats out of the MM. Play it by ear and as long as you keep it in control all will be fine.
