Great article on the genesis on D&D.. including the legal battles and bad press. some great picks of early editions.

takes me back quite away..20 yrs or more. I remember my friends brother had the 'original rules'. I remember carrying around my little red velvet bag that was full of dice. I remember reading tomb of horrors for the first time (btw--there is a picture of the lich/demi-lich from the TOH in the article) .. I also remember reading queen of the demonweb pits for the first time---jeez.. that was some tough adventure!!!
