I want to learn AD&D the board game (you now the old fashioned way and not on a computer). I have looked for some sites on the net but couldn't find any that explain the rules and things like that. Does anybody know a good site for an absolute amature?

I haven't got a simple answer but here's some thoughts.

1) you might want to look at the 2nd/3rd edition forum here at Sorcerer's as that is aimed at D & D pen and paper gaming.
http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=2nd/3rd+Edition+D|AMP|D&number=8

Alternatively, you could try looking in the Never Winter Nights forum. There are some people arranging D&D roleplaying game via the interntet. This is pretty much the same as sitting around a table and playing. The computers aren't being used for anything other than allowing people to talk to each other. Anyway, you could look here:
http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000097.html

2) You could buy a manual with all of the rules explained. These can be brought via Sorcerer's at:
http://www.sorcerers.net/Books/index_man.htm

3) You could try looking at some of the online roleplaying sites. In particular you could try to find a group of roleplayers near where you live. Some of these sites have clubs registered with them. Anyway, here are a few to get started. Good luck.

Topic moved. Also, the 3rd edition books you can buy at SP won't help him with 2nd edition D&D, which is what all the games thus far have used. For that, check http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index.htm and scroll to the bottom of the page. There's a neat guide to AD&D rules for newbies there.

Here is a collection of files that describes 3E D&D. It's not complete but it should give you a start. http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/srd.html

But the best to do is buy a player's Hand book. I'd be happy to answer any question you may have about the rules.

Is there something like the dungeon master book on the internet and does it contain lots of information about statistics and things like that?
