What do you think? I must admit I'm very new to D&D the only games I have played are BG2 and PS:T later. I'm not sure if I should get ToB since I'm looking for something different than BG2. If you can convince me that ToB will be different from BG2 in some other way than just the new kit and levels I might buy it, but right now I'm considering Pool of Radiance (sp?). I'm searching for a game with some realism f.eks. like in PS:T the charisma intelligance and wisdom mattered even if you were a fighter and you couldn't sleep anywhere you like. I think that realism is the main reason I didn't like BG2 all that much.
So let me get back on the question - what (A)D&D game should I buy next?

NOt to be rude but this is really not the forum for this topic.

But if you didn't like BG2 don't bother with IWD it's even less realistic. Did you like the original BG? For modern AD&D Interplay's really the only act in town. There are other CRPG but not based on the D&D system. I guess you will have to wait for PoR2 or NWN.

Do you have an interested in other genures?

POR has just been delayed till Christmas again, so forget it.
And if you're looking for realism in fantasy games, good luck. I really can't imagine what I could recommend...

"Realism" in a fantasy game. Get real. This is fantasy not realism. If you want realism try life, I enjoy this stuff because it is not real. ;)

Seriously, If you want a game where you won't find "unrealistic" quirks, I would have to say that you should try the real thing. With that you can add as much realistic stuff as you like. Just be careful, if you get too involved in the everyday mundane things the fun will fade quickly.

I think you didn't get my point about realism. In my case realism is something that doesn't let you sleep for a week next to the bad dragon you'll kill and after this week you go near him and he starts a dialog and attacks you. Try reallity for realism? No thanx, it's too realistic. Nothing fun ever happens and it's full of ideots.
I don't think PS:T for example had anything to do with real life, but it was still reallistic right?
So anyway I was looking pretty much for a PS:T kind of game

Oh and BTW where should I have posted this?

It's a tie between here and Whatnots, but it doesn't really matter. It fits into both.

Vicsun, I don't really see what your problem is. Each game is what you make it to be. If you want realism, play it like it's the real thing. Torment isn't any more realistic than any other IE games if you don't want to play it properly.

Each of these games can be a munchkin's run or a role-playing experience. Which will it be is totally up to you. If you're conscious enough to want "realism" (or, true role-playing), I assume you're conscious enough not to play like a munchkin.
