Since Interplays message boards are down, I am hoping someone in this forum has dealt with this before and knows how to deal with it. For some reason I am sure you don't care about I had to uninstall BGII. Using the windows uninstall applet I selected to uninstall BGII - TOB. This went fine until it got to the part of uninstalling BGII - SOA where I got an error stating in effect it could not uninstall SOA. OK, so what I did then was to rename the folder and went to reinstall SOA, this actually worked until I got back to TOB wherein when I click on install it goes to the install shield but a message pops up asking if I really want to uninstall TOB. (No I want to "install" it). I assume this is because the registry has the game as already being installed, but I have reached my technical limits.

It is definitely an issue with the registry.
Try using regedit to fix it. I haven't had to do this type of thing for a very long time, so I can't be much more help.

Well...what you pretty much do is search your registry with regedit.exe for stuff like BG, BALDUR and especially the Black Isle folder in software information folders. Just check what you are deleting before you delete it, and make sure your registry is BG and BALDUR free...that should set you right.
PS:DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!! :)

search for a registry cleaner program....it is abit better to use i think.
RegCleaner for example.

And back up your registry before you do any messing with it! That way, if you mess it up, you can start over (**Bondari reloads**).
