I want to know if it's worth my time. It looks really cool and all but if I buy this I won't be able to buy, Never Winter Nights until about a year after it comes out.

Of course it's worth it. It's not like Neverwinter Nights is comming out tomorrow. You'll have plenty of time to play ToB. Trust me it's worth it. The new stuff in the game is cool like the special abilities and the new ennemies, but what I liked the best was the plot and some of the inside jokes that you'd only understand if you had played all the Baldur's Gate games. Do yourself a favour and buy ToB.

Actually I was going to ask the same question, but with a little more detail.

By the end of Shadows of Ahm I was pretty fed up with the game (granted I still played through 2 more times just see different character types in action). I was tired of every spellcaster starting off with chaos, and ending whith suicidal explosive spells at point blank, not to mention the endless protection triggers, over and over again. Mages were nothing more than anti-protection devices, not much room for other cool high level spells. Every Rakshasa casting the same spells, etc.

My question is, does ToB add anything fresh to the gameplay? I don't mean cool character attacks, I'm sure it has that, but does the game-play itself get any better? or does it turn into a pacman "get the pattern and win" type game from the early 80s, like SoA did?

I haven't completed ToB yet, but I can say that many of the fights are much improved(and more difficult), than much of SoA. Pretty much whenever you face a Bhaalspawn, you are in for a rather unique fight(rather obvious Black Isle was really trying to wring what new encounters they could out of the Infinity Engine).

The dragon AI is beefed up as well.

Some dragon-related SPOILERS, perhaps:

The first dragon in ToB that I fought was something of a shock. He had some peculiar habits that were rather fun: he would cast Non-Detection on himself, then Invis(I remember staring blankly at the screen, thinking How did I lose a freaking dragon?) and retreat somewhere before summoning a whole slew of Inivisible Stalkers and Healing, then rejoining the fray by attacking someone unaware.

Is it just me or is the add-on very short ?
I'm nearly finished it and I only got it last week.

To Fergus:

Well it is about 30 to 50 hours of gameplay if you include the Watcher's keep....

- you did saradush's quest (killing the H-orc Bhaalspawn).
- You did the Watcher's keep.
- you went in the eastern forest (temple, lair, etc.) to get everything to kill Yaga
Shura.
-You killed yaga shura.
- You went to the oasis and got ambushed
- You got to (don't the name of the city) the city wich is under Balthazar controll.
- You went to Sendai lair and killed her.
- You went to Abazigal and killed him.
- You got back to Balthazar and confront him...

It is quite a long and complete expansion in my humble opinion...And as said, especially if you include the watcher's keep....
