View Full Version : Help with an item
Alex Sun, 26th May '02, 3:36am Ok so I'm about to do a final run through BG2 and I've made a long sword, the Green Destiny, coincidentally for a female Kensai named Jen Yu. :)
Anyway, whenever I equip it, the game crashes. I have sucessfully made items before, and cannot see anything wrong with this one.

And yes, I know it is sickeningly powerful. This weapon will eventually grow in power as my character levels. You're looking at the final weapon, when my Kensai hits (if at all) Lvl 30.
So why doesn't it work?

How are you getting the item into the game?
- Via CLUAconsole?
- Via Shadowkeeper?
- Via something else?
Or run through the item file trying to spot
some of the mistakes you could have made...

Once again let me remind you; that's the weapon when its wielder is LVL 30... yes I know its obsenely powerful. Originally it was going to have a 5% chance to cast Time Stop too. :)

I have found the Bonus AC vs weapon type that had nothing set in the extension header and removed it. The game still crashes when it's equipped. :(

Dexterity modifier type/bonus values were reversed.
Weapon now works. :)

You wont need that anyways, if you have the ring of Gaxx. If it still doesn't work keep taking off features untill it works, then put everything back on...except for whats causing the problem...then post what it was. :rolling:

He fixed it, he doesnt need to take anything off.
though personally I would take most of that stuff off, or atleast tack on a couple of hefty disadvantages.

Alex Tue, 28th May '02, 2:04am Yea it's been toned down heavily now (Wisdom/Dex bonus gone and the elemental damage was removed, dont know why they were there to begin with) and I'm working on scaling its abilites every 5 levels of the weilder.

speed increase (as per boots of speed)

Why not re-design Kill Sword?
