I'm curious, what is the playability benefit of multi classing a cleric with a thief? Can you backstab with a club?

You can backstab with any thief-usable weapon, including clubs.

No kidding? I once tried to have Valygar backstab with a katana and it said no go. I would have thought if you can use the weapon, you can backstab with it. Was this a glitch?

It must be a weapon usable by a thief. If you were talking about Valygar's katana, I don't believe it's usable by a thief.

If you make a gnomish cleric/thief or a dual classed cleric to thief when they get high level UAI skill they can then backstab with all of the thief backstab weapons. Who said that a cleric can't use a sword or katana?...

I just worked out that a gnomish cleric/thief with UAI can of course now wield the katanas and other bladed weapons but will not be able to put any proficiencies into them...

But, a human that dual classes from cleric or thief to the other and can get UAI from the thief class will be able to have proficiency in katanas and other bladed weapons and be able to wield them.

Only one...slight problem... you need heaps of xp (close to the 8 million cap) to be able to get UAI and have a completed thief to cleric dual build. A lower level cleric that duals to thief can get UAI at a lower amount of xp (3 million in thief class only) but will have less cleric skills.

So again gnomes have been ditched from my list of cleric thief options...
