I know BGT is not too popular but I have met people who play it.(For those who have not heard of it: BGT allows you to play BG1+TotSC+BGII+ToB in one game without interruption, with the graphical level of BGII. By the way, since TGC is compatible with BGT, it's certainly compatible with BP+BGT(+NEJ etc)

I don't know, but if you are looking for the BG1-in-BG2-engine experience I would recommend Tutu instead.

This uses the languages of your BG1/BG2 installations so German is fine. :)
