View Full Version : High Intelligence necessary?

I have heard that you miss out on dialogue options if your protagonist has a low Int. I know first-hand that a low wisdom can be very bad. Minsc’s lack of wisdom demonstrates that problem. My first guy also had a low wisdom and he and Minsc took many “naps” together in Irenicus’ dungeon (Mephit magic can be a pain).
Is there a similar downside to low intelligence that any of you are aware of?

If your main character does not cast spells (excluding innate) is there any reason to have higher than the bare minimum intelligence when rolling him up?

Yes there is. Intelligence also increases Lore, and if your cheap like me, I would rather not have to spend money on identifying a weapon. Unless you have many identify speels handy.....
Other than that, intelligence is handy basically for wizards in writing spells to a spell book and level of spells memorized, so u should be set there.
