Hi,

I am in a romance with Jaheira and over the last few game days she has said the same thing to me three times, her opening dialog goes something like:

Ah, the dawning of our day, though it is very rarely that we
match our sleep to the cycle of day or night.

I have answered the same way each time - the most favourable thing to keep the rmonace active I think

It is chapter 3, I have had dermin visit twice, had Jaheria leave twice and terminsel show up once to give me jaheira's note and gone to harpershold to pick jaheira up and kill the mercenaries.

I have done many of the chapter 2 quests, only windspear is left - doing this next. Done trademeet, umar hills, and most of the stuff in the city apart from the various liches.

Only the clearing out the vampire job to do in chapter 3. I would like to finish the dermin thing, do windspear before clearing out the vampires and going to spelhold.

Looking through a romance walkthru, it looks like the next thing to happen with Jaheira is dermin appearing and trying to kill her.

I used SK to look up the relevant variables that folks seem to want to know to debug things and have posted them below

I have SOA with TOB installed and the latest patch, together with fixpack 1.12 from baldurdash.

My party consists of Jaheira, Aerie, Keldorn, Minsc, Yoshi and me (mc F/M)

Am I really stuck or is the dialog loop just a feature and dermin will show up some time later?

As I remember now the attack from Dermin should happen. This only happens if you rest outside. Try this. After that only a few more dialogues to the final (you'll know it !). For Elminster to show up you should pause the game somewhere without any neutral NPS nearby (for exmaple autside D'Arnise keep).

IIRC this is one of the problems that were fixed with the latest ToB patch. It happened to me as well.

The patch I mean is:

BGII-ThroneofBhaal_Patch_26498

Hi,

I already have the latest TOB patch installed, however, I have the baldurdash 1.12 fixpack on top of this, maybe this has screwed things slightly?

Anyway, I did as Tina2 suggested and rested outdoors, (in trademeet straight after windspear and the red dragon - he was much easier than I expected) and sure enough dermin appeared and was soon no more.

I then went on to finish off the remaining city quests I had left, guarded compound, kangaxx, the flayers in the sewers, and job 3 from the shadow thieves and went to dearnise hold a couple of times in between to pause and get the next dialog.

Everything was going great until I went to sleep in the grounds of the hold and when I woke up I was asking jaheira about last night but had not had the dialog when she asks me if I want to lie with her.

Luckily I had a save just before resting and looking with SK the lovetalk variable was at 69 and went to 70 in the morning.

I did my first ever bit of hacking with SK and changed the lovetalk first to 68 and retried - same thing and then to 67, again same missed dialog. I then set it to 66 and tried resting again and got the proposition dialog this time and hence the dialog in the morning made some sense!

However, that is not the end of my problems... do I lie with her or postpone until later (I know, the age old question ....) I tried both and looking at the save games for each option with SK, romance flag is still 2 and lovetalk is 70 in both so I am guessing that this means the romance is still on either way - I would like to continue this into TOB (if there is anything to continue I guess) so will I rule out anything in TOB if I chose one way over the other?

The final thing for me to do is to pause the game in dearnise grounds and wait for terminsel to appear as Tina2 suggested.

Well, apologies if I posted the original message to the wrong forum, I am new here. I was not sure myself whether it was a SOA or TOB question.

I have SOA with TOB installed and want to play my current game all the way through to the end of TOB. I happen to be in the SOA section of the game at present. However, given the info on these forums that suggests SOA with TOB installed can behave very differently, I thought I should post to the TOB board.

My guess was that the SOA board was for questions concerning an SOA only installation and the TOB forum was for those questions with a TOB installation, in the absense of any guidance.

As far as my experiences go, Jaheira is the only one with whom it is really your choices. It's both okay. Just think what your PC would do. I, personally, thought it to be wise to get over with Irenicus and finish the revenge for Khalid thing, so her heart could be free at last. But, frankly, it doesn't matter with Jaheira. (As a control, look atz romance active with SK, it's still 2, no matter if you do it or if you wait.)
